SUMMARY
GF by Race Time. GGF as on Decs. Watering but no details given.

Not looking a Strong Pace and a Final Time of 71.99 'Slow' on a day where the juvenile 5f record was lowered. Kingscote on Koptoon typically proactive and taking the Lead on the rail and 1.5L clear to Halfway with Winstanley close up just off the rail and a Centre Group away from the Rail with Misleading taking that Group along.

One possibility is the pace slow and running prominently an advantage. The Sectional Times below and the Slow Final 1f (which looks laboured visually) suggest something different. A steady start then a fast middle 2f with the 4th 1f suggesting the Final Efforts went too early and therefore a slower finish. Worth noting the undulating nature of the course needs factoring in.

One 'Sectionalista' whittering away on Twitter about having Sectional Times on-screen wasn't helping the Pundits because they couldn't interpret them. I's cut the Pundits some slack in this instance because the Sectional Time insiders need to work harder at ideas for presenting Sectional Time data in Real Time. And improving the General Understanding of what the Times mean.

Sectional Times =
1st 1f = 14.16s
2nd 1f = 11.27s
3rd 1f = 10.90s
4th 1f = 11.16s
5th 1f = 11.64s.
6th 1f = 12.86s

Hard rce to get a handle on in VRev with a widespread Lines of Racings and mixed Pace. Nothing really making an strong move in the last 2f+ and showing anything different. All plugging on together with Misleading showing enough to get a 1L+ jead but folding back to the others by the line.

Whole front of the race seemed to be folding back by the finish and a number of horses not running well in the last 2f are closing back up to the leaders at the line while doing nothing. Best example is Harbour Watch who raced prominently and held against running a bit free befoe halfway and always with his head held left against that. As the pace upped in the 4th x 1f HW niggled along and not really responding anf now starting to Hang Right with the head still to the left. Jk mostly given up by 1f out after HW getting unbalanced for a spell. In most race setup you would expect HW to drift/fade back and finish well beaten with his jk idle. The jk doing nothing in the last 1f and HW making a bit of ground back to the lead anyway as part of a 2nd/3rd wave collapsing together.

Lackaday retained for just 25,000gns at the 2nd Tatts Breeze Sale. Hard to see on the Video what the 'problem' was. He does an adequate breeze, running straight. Prob just average pace and the action a little untidy but niggles not big problems. Having watched a lot of the Videos this one is no worse than several sold for expensive prices. He is probably a smaller one and hard to judge that fully on the Video. But a usable, mostly balanced type.

Lackaday's last Channon Gallop video is from July 8th working with a mixed group. The older Finflash leading and the other 2yos the OR90+ Bossy Guest & the moderate quality First Class Mail. Relative sizes about what you would guess at with Lackaday around mid-way between BG & FCM for bulk. Lackaday travels comfortably and ends up in the lead with BG just behind as if it was set up that way. FCM niggled along and unable to finish with the other two nor ahead of the eased Lead Horse.

Moodrick looking small and young in what must be a yearling picture on the Qatar Racing website. The Breeze Video, from the Arqana sale at Deauville in May, the best quality Video so far. Breeze done on a straight and flat bit of turf which is not kicking up divots. Moodrick still looking smaller but a 'breeze sale darling' perhaps, because he looks a ready and Now sprinter. Lacking scope and just ok build but a set and balanced physical set-up and zips through a straight breeze up the track centra and looking quick. The question that has arisen in several breezes then comes back. What will that sort of zip amount to when Spencer hauls him back behind a wall of horses over 6f at undulating GDWD? A good number of the field (incl the Hannon three & Koptoon talked about as big 7f types in earlier season. Is Modrick going to look a very different physical type to those?
