SUMMARY
GF as on Decs. 12mm on HS on Tue. Thundery Showers Forecast for the pm.

Medium SW Wind = Direct Headwind.

Field raced Centre Track. Race run 2.22s Faster than the following Open Maiden but just an Average Pace set by Sulaalaat who had a comfortable time in the lead. Feidl relatively closely grouped to Halfway and some Pulling behind the Leader given the Pace.

Interesting enough Group in PRev without feeling that the looking got a real handle on them all. Sulaalaat just an ok Medium one, or a bit bigger with some length. 75 fine but not much higher. But given the way she won here will be rated OR80+. Not convinced the comfortable win here makes that level workable.

But, Sulaalaat a difficult filly to warm to if you start letting Classical Prev seep in. She has a permanently Irratated & Fed Up demeanour. Looking back at her earlier pictures you realise that is 'who she is' & not linked that well to her racing performance. Looking Hot & Bothered in the Prelims and sweaty and Coat a bit washy in Front. Flicking her tail and kicking out at ?? (Flieas). Generally looking not quite right. Also a notably Droopy Tail. An American guy who used to sell Videos called 'Beat the Beam' about picking out horses using Classical PRev on the TV pictures of the 'Post Parade' before US races, hated Droopy Tails. His phrase being something like - "We don't, not never, bet on Horses with no tails like that..". The thing to Learn out of that is in Classical work you need to know your horses and Sulaalaat runs fine when she looks pissed off. Probably worry more if she got Lethargic or too Bouncy.

March On not making much impression beyond being a bit smaller int he group. Within that frame she is unremarkable with a solid build and a neat set-up. Did best of the tohers in the race after Halfway when the Pace upped without looking Open Maiden level. Lower 70s perhaps.

For those who like a bigger horse then Ceaseless the biggest frame. Mostly solidly built if tailing off a bit behind. Wearing the owner First colours over March On. Like Sulaalaat she had a definite demeanour which shows up in every picture. Sulky Teenager wanting to be convinced this is worth doing and that she wont dislike racing. Ran with more promise than the result reads but without looking like 6f nor GF is right for her. Had her Head over to the Right from early on and either offering to Habg eft or just getting unbalanced. So, when the Pace went up she started losing ground and really started hanging left and dropped to 5th. Inside the last 1f she finally put her head straight forward for the first time and plugged on to the line and not fading. A 7f development one & say 79.

Free To Love another unremarkable one. Bit smaller in the group and fittest. Prob late 60s to 70. Ran much too free here but not looking a convincing forward effort 2.5f out even given the early exertions. Another feeling the ground a bit too firm?

Queen's Pearl also mostly unremarkable but distinguishable from MO & FTL by being more length. Too lengthy and lighter behind in some pictures. Has the size to be 70+ but just a low level effort after running a touch free behind the winner. Fit enough on the day in line with Varian's prep for debut. Would like to see what she looked like STO in a more varied groups.

Trainer Griffiths slowly lumping himself in with McCabe in the B2yoR Bluffer's Guide. Rosie Crowe the smallest in the field but well prepared incl the Shadow Roll like McCabe.. On Looks, no reason why she shouldn't be usable late 50s. But, like McCabe, his horses dont seem to run how they look and too many off-the-back not even running a competent race. WTRB report made saying RC didn't handle the groud and on VRev you could put her hanging and getting dropped down to that. Less forgiving about how quickly she stopped and looking so tired 1.5f out you wondered if the horse might 'park' herself up and lie down.
