GFG from GF on Decs, 6-8mm Watering on Thu. Any rain overnight? Stalls Stands' Side. Blythe Star medium sized & lengthy in his Breeze Video. Ok range but doesn't use it for most of the breeze and backing off a bit and a little unblanced on the undulations. Responds to that and the reider's urgings by putting his head up. Head goes down towards the finish when allowed to go his own pace. Sonar by the same sire as Blythe Star and a similar type. Medium at most but lengthy. Looking a slower galloper and not controlling his movement well. Not helped by hanging left in stages through the breeze. Prob never gets out of 2nd gear becuse of the issues. The text on the Highclere TB website makes no mention of the Breeze instead waffling on pointlessly about pedigree items of lesser, or no importance compared to the actual horse. Picture on their website making him look smaller and less lengthy and still looking 'Young' and round and less power behind. Latest Work Video for Sonar on the Bell website shows his working in a trio with Berland who was promising when 2nd on debut and the unraced Akeed Champion, AC talked up by Bell in 214 making a lot of his pedigree & 1/2 bro to a Gp1 winner. Zafeen. Sonar smaller than Berland but goes along ok alongside him to the finish and no hanging. Akeed Champion ridden behind the other two and then pulled out and asked to go by them in the last 1f on the uphill. Which he does comfortably enough. But, Sonar looking improved from the Breeze on the work video. But, held the PRF down because a few of the Bell 2yos not run well with better PRFs this week and debuts have not been strong yet. . Sam(antha) Spratt riding Pivot Point again and has ridden 600 winners in NZ incl 15 Graded Stakes. Unfortunately, for somone riding in Britain, has the quieter style in the last 2f trying to keep the horse balanced. This doesn't go gown well with British audiences brainwashed into wanting 'strong' (who knows) jks and plenty of Monkey-on-a-Stick bouncing around. Which meant when PP started hanging left in the last 1f having looked to be moving to the lead Spratt looking as if she was doing 'nothing' to a Brtish audience. Meanwhile Atzeni getting the most of of the smaller trier Astrelle and one of 4 winners for him at the meeting. |
