GF by 11:00am. GFG in the early AM. Watered but No Details Given. No Rain since Mon 28th July. CoC Quote = "Inner of straight dolled out 11 yds at 6f and 5yds at the winning post". Cascding Stars seems to bowl along mostly ok down the stands rail in his Breeze Video. Compact but perhaps bigger than medium? One issue that he holds his head up and away and is bowling along without listening to the rider. When the rider tries to get involved late on the head comes fully up and the pair end the breeze having a mild barney and not going forward much. Tamarin has no left eye. Had it removed because of an infection. Dobbs riding with Hughes on Catharina & Levey on Gen I Am Dobbs briefly interiewed before the race and said he didn't think it was much of a race. Race Messy and Played out like a Slower Pace set by two long SPs allowed a Soft Time in the Lead. Which mostly expalins what Lolita & Gen I Am are doing in 3rd/4th. A question on PRev/Vp to assess whether any of their final placing down to 62+. THose two Leaders tracked by a trio in 2R of whom only Sallabeh finished the race off. Which meant the 'core' of the race to judge the others against if Sallabeh able to get from a unpressured 2R S&P spot to put 2-3L into two lesser ones. Tamarin running a bit free in 2R but found nothing when a gap opened up for her around 2F out. Instead of making the progress Sallabeh did she stalled and rolled around a bit and a question over Why? Catharina also pulling a bit in 2R and ending up even further back than Tamarin. That set up meant that everything in 6th+ at Halfway had a chance to make some Closing progress towards Lolita & Gin I Am in the last 2f and a number did but only Penny Pepper actually getting past them. Check PP's size. Bit of a heaped finish and Sallabeh prob sub-75 so Dobbs' view as 'not much of a race' seems sound and a bit of thought needed over whether anything worth following out of the race. [Sep 4] Kizingo a rare Sales buy by Juddmonte and seems a very expensive foal given her just 'ok' pedigree. A smaller type of her sire and not standing out here. Looking fit enough if a touch green in the race. Slow start and a 'flop' out of stalls. Kizingo a bit free early but having to be driven along at halfway and just a low level effort overall. Plain lacking pace or a bit too green. Nothing to make her look likely to blossom STO in this effort. |
