See the Text of the Stewards' Enquiry into the 'Improvement' by As A Dream. Not a race to spend too long trying to explain but some point. As A Dream has an OR53 which, very unusually for Tester in too low. She is a mid to late 50s type at present although lacking scope. Also, as we saw with Low Cut Affair at the course's last Meeting we are into the time of the year when the uber-fitness of the Evans's small ones can get them staying on ins and places that look above their Marks if taken too literally. Evan' has won more Maidens (& Novices, etc) with small ones than anyone. How much did AAD have to improve to win this? Probably not at all. It is a notably slow time for the course and AAD getting to the lead late on after Khawaater & Escrick were fading back having hooked up soon after halfway. Khawaater is only on OR72 and has been running too freely in recent races and not finishing the race off anyway. With the unproven horses not running that well by the line AAD was left with the job of beating Seebeedee by 2L which is fine and 50s form. Worth noted AAD is the 5th winner to come from the WDSR seller the Stewards were highlighting and another runner from the rac ehas placed in Maidens and has an OR69.
SEnq Full Text = "The Stewards considered the apparent improvement in form of the winner AS A DREAM (IRE), ridden by David Probert, and trained by David Evans, compared with its previous run at Windsor on 16 June 2014, where the filly finished 9th of 12, beaten 6 ¾ lengths. They noted the trainer’s representative’s explanation that AS A DREAM (IRE) was better suited by the easier ground. They ordered AS A DREAM (IRE) to be routine tested".
