SUMMARY
GFF from GF on decs. 4mm of Rain Overnight to Early AM with the chance of more showers. CoC notes that they have only watered once recently putting 7mm on Mon. Their Forecast was for Heavier & more rain than 4mm in the main band of rain.

Properus looking a Medium size in his Breeze Video and a touch Narrow & not fully together. Has some Knee action. Looks better in Motion and does a straight breeze Centre track and finishes the breeze off well. Doesn't look a real 'speed' horse and more getting into his stride and then rolling on efficiently. How will that look on this uphill & turning 6f?. Staying on in the HS? Prob ok for 75.

Not Listed as a juvenile Course Record but faster than any 6f time going back to start of 2002. Fastest 3 times in that period go back to the 2002-04 period when the going description 'Firm' was still generally acceptable (not just at BATH). The useful trio doing those fast times of a near-at-hand Yesteryear were Wise Owl (75.27s, Firm, 2004), Auditorium (75.29s, GFF, 2003) & Yafoul (75.4s, Firm, 2002). Makes your shins feel sore just thinking about it.

[Update = A quick look back through the records to see how the going description 'Firm' has dwindled over the years (at meetings with 2yos races on). Since the start of 2002 to end 2013 there have been 176 meetings run on 'Firm. 108 were in the 4 year period 2002-05 and just 28 in the 4 years 2010-13 (no account taken of wetter summers etc). The 28 from the start of 2010 are split 24 at BATH, 3 at BTON & 1 at NOTT (April 4th 2010). Go back to 2002-06 and a double figure number of courses incl ASCT, NWBY, YORK, SALS & AYR. 2006 the last year for NMKJ. THSk the only other course to call Firm since the start of 2009 other than the 3 already noted above. Something happened at the end of 2008 to turn a dwindling into vanishing rarities. Only BATH have used 'Hard' in the Going Description since 2002 and that has stopped. They used 'Hard' for 2 x meetings in 2002 and Hard (Firm in Places) once in 2003 then twice in 2005 and (it hasn't stopped raining since?) ]

[Aug25] Despite the Fast Time not a strong pace visually and a Medium+ part Tailwind n the HS. Zigayani looking a medeium size, at least, ond ok build. Mostly moves ok and straight in front. Line-of-4 formed early as the Leading Line with Zigayani on the rail with the bigger Flash Fire looming outside him and looking like he might roll over onto Zigayani for most of the race. Zigayani looking a bit green overall and had seen the problem with FF early himself and spent most of the race worying about being cut up. Solid effort by Zigayani towards 2f out to go with FF as the pace upped on the bend to the HS. FF able to go 1L+ clear on Zigayani into the last 2f then finally did roll over and take his ground a bit. Having been waiting for this for 3.5f Zigayani seemed to over-react and backed off and got a bit unbalanced and lost 2L. Never realy got started again and just a low level plugging on. Still a bit of a niggle over his size but left with a better impression of him re-watching the video.

[Aug 30] Best Dressed looking in good condition but a bit sweaty. Ran a race of 2/3s & 1/3. Ok break from the widest stall and made an effort to end up racing widest in a leading Lo4. But, travelling ok for nearly 4f and went from looking as if he would be involved int he HS to stopping very quickly. Jk starting to niggle on the uphill bend to the HS & BD still running widest. But, the head appeared to come up and it looked more than just being outpaced by the others having dropped to 6f on fast ground and running widest. Looked unblanced early int he HS and hanging left. Looked more like some sort of physical issue.
