GGS in Early AM from G on Decs. Inner HS in use & actual race distance is 8f & 3yds. Average Pace which Al Rayyan was allowed to set to suit himself. Ended up with a 2F Sprint Duel between AR & Azmaam and close tustle until Azmaam fading late on. The Lampo Genie just a medium size and build int he group and less strong than the first two for example. Shuffled back as the field moved across to the rail early having made a slow start from the rail stall. Doing best of those from behind into the HS to hang onto the leading 4 in the last 2.5f. Seemed to more than just Stay On towards tiring horses in the last 1f and seemed to maked 1-2L himself with a real effort and seeing the 8f out well. But, say 70ish on size? Some extra for 'Engine'? [Aug 30th] Azmaam a good debut running prominently in an Average paced race. Looked a good effort and promising and the other 3 in the first 4 have all run well/won since. Then a poor run STO and looking some mix of an attitude problem and/or feeling something. Hints of the same here. A slightly slow start then having to be niggled & part driven to make ground in the BS to sit 2nd into the bend. Looking bulkier & stronger than Al Rayyan and travelling better than AR inside the last 3f. Jk on Azmaam able to delay asking for the final effort until around-1.5f+ but finding less than looked likely and just doing enough to carry on challenging until stalling into the last 1f. |
