Trainer Dods record with debuts in 2014 is 5/20 and a solid Profit and will make it his 7th Profitable Year from the last 12. Has always been an over-preparer for debut in fitness terms if some can be a bit green. Another 7 of the debuts have finished 2nd/3rd. But, in the spirit of WYSIWYG with Dods FTO only 2 of the 15 which did not win on debut have gone on to win. Both of those two winners finished 2nd FTO beaten shorter distances. [Update = not true now because Dods had a Seller winner on the Day with Smart Stepper who was 9th on debut beaten 18.5L. But, an exception that proves the rule in that SS had been WD at the start twice and a problem horse who was dropped to a 'Get Rid' seller of very low quality. ]
