SUMMARY
GSG from S on decs. Stiff Southerly wind = Half Tailwind from Right in HS.

Double bonus race (£10k plus BoBIS) but similar to the Conds/Listed races there are only so many fillies ready and running this early. Which means the quality of this type of event can be very variable and can range from having the Queen Mary winner in to being close to 'Empty'. This race run at an average, or slower, pace and developed into a less than 2F sprint in the HS. Ground looking loose on top and obvious ridges and bumps in places (eg, at the stable crossing). A lot of getting unbalanced and not really going forward properly during that sprint partly because of that.

Rise Up Lotus sold on to Hamdan Al Maktoum following a promising debut where you could have made a case for her being the best sprint prospect in the field. Able to get across from the widest draw to be on the outside of the leading trio in the Chute. Made the best effort in the HS taking some time to drop the others in that trio but well on top at the finish. Left the impression she would be better on a faster pace and ok for 80+.

Kingscote typically decisive on War Paint and got her over to lead on the rail and then controlled the pace to suit himself. Just an ok effort in the sprint and again leaving the impression she is 70+ but perhaps not full open maiden level.

Simply Magic looking 60s type on debut and ran too close to a stiffer pace. Held up here but took a long time to get going in the sprint. Staying on mildly at the finish and might need further but probably sub-70 and the type the Hannons will try to win a lesser track maiden with.

Tarando looked scrawny as a yearling and her sales price must have had some 'pedigree page' extra in it. Has filled out a bit but stil not convincing a proper 70+ filly. Her last work video from May 3rd shows her running with the unraced Savoy Showgirl and not going as well as that one. Also looking less straightforward mover and racing a bit head up and stiff-in-front and similar here in the sprint. Tore off in the lead on debut and faded early and held up here and a bit of free-running in behind. Did make some ground in the HS sprint but running the shortest route (a bit stiffly). Not open maiden type on PRev and see how she develops for nurseries.

Clodovil Doll a bit short and smaller in the field although ok strongly made. Running too free here in the leading line and never really settled. Made a solid effort for the first half of the sprint and showing some ok reach in her movement and a real trier (leaving a different impression to Tarando). Respect for the trainer and what he gets out of his 2yos (Blockade in 2013 for eg of a smaller filly) says perhpas ok for 75(ish) and check STO if movement outweighs the size concern.

Concerns that Channon either doesn't have much this year for 5f early continue. Zuzinia in a work gallop video from March 18th with Ar Colleen Aine, Exentricity & Juventas. The first two of those smaller fillies who have placed on debut without looking OR75 types and opposable. Zuzinia looking a bit bigger in that VT and has been entered for better races by Channon but hard to see why in PRev. Small and a bit underpowered, fit FTO but too green. Too unbalanced to get going in the sprint and looking a bit small and overwhelmed. Is this the best you have got ready Mick? Let's hope Moonraker is a bit better than we have seen so far.

Blue Burmese better than her retained-for-£3k tag and an ok size in this field. Might be ok for 70 and ok to target at Auction events. Karluk awkwardly put together and found this test too taxing to match the speed and get balanced. Not of interest and a nursery future. Swift Susie a quite neatly made compact sprinter but wearing blinkers here and didn't look like they were helping. Another to run too free in the chute and then lack the nous to get balanced and sprint in the HS. Apprentice jockey also lacking organisation so no assistance. Another not up to Maiden level and instead see whether she develops to be usable 60s. But, unlike James Tate & CDoll, the trainer is off-putting because he seem to give up on 2yo racing many years ago. The 4 wins he has managed since 2009 have been been with 4 very expensive horses and 3 of those breeze-up purchases which he hadn't done most of the training with.
