SUMMARY

Fieldsman an NR for Soft going on his intended debut.

[Aug 30] Checking back on Le Rouquin's Breeze Video and mostly likeable. A medium and neatly made one with ok depth and width to the body. All looks 'together' including the strong enough neck. Looks balanced in movement in the Gather and the breeze. One niggle might be that he only has 'one pace' in that he gets into his balanced stride with a middling speed actions and just rolls along. But looks ok for 75+.

Slower Pace to Halfway with field racing Stands Side from stalls Stands' Rail. Comfortable lead for Hail Clodius but Fallon on Fieldsman moving up to head HC around 3f out the up the pace. But HC going better and able to get back to the lead in the last 1f and the only one to finish going forward at all with everything else fading.

[Sep 8] Looking at Fieldsman's S/3TO runs some points register. A bit sweaty both times and a bit free running. On STO at GDWD jk Moore held him back to 3R and a bit more settled than here. Fieldsman a bit sweatier here and Fallon unable to hold him here (another one where he shows his age & lack of movement) and letting him pull to the lead after 3f+. Racing notably different to the relaxed Hail Clodius who settled in front and pricking his ears and listening tot he jk whn headed rather than reacting. As at GDWD just a lower level Effort by Fieldsman here off his travelling pace and had to use that before 2.5f out which meant he was stalling and fading in the last 1f. A flat later race Effort overall. Other point that got noted was he is built ok but a bit more medium height/frame than though. Looking at the picture on Dunlop's website & the way he runs you wonder whether he might try 6f. But, 4TO rather than use his OR79 he runs over 7f again in a BTON maiden ('dropped' to BTON?). Interesting to see whether he settles and whether he gets up the last uphill pat after the long downhill section.
