SUMMARY
S by race time. SHV from GS on decs. 7mm rain on Mon and 5.5mm overnight.

Strong+ WSW Wind = Direct Tailwind in Chute and 3/4 Tailwind from Left in the HS.

Late start to the 6f races this year to go with the slow start to the season (10+ races behind the earliest season schedules) This the first 5.5f race (already had 5.3f at BTO as their '5f' races. Followed by a 5.6 race 2 days later and the first 6f race at York's Dante Meeting as used to be the case until a raft of courses got in earlier in recent seasons.

Fahey SL pre-race piece = Robin O’Ryan bought Miss Van Gogh for a friend of his and she didn’t cost a lot of money. She’s a nice filly who shows a bit at home. She’ll definitely win races but will be better for her debut in the Maiden Auction at Warwick.

Dettori here to ride Doomah as part of his Qatar retainer and a pleasure to see him keep-it-simple and deliver the win on a solidly prepped Hannon filly. Start well, control the pace in the lead to suit yourself, go straight across to the Stands' Rail in the HS (not dither about & race centre track then hang right). Try to win just by HnH pushing of Doomah and then keep compact and controlled when having to ask for full effort as she was challenged. Doomah a small one and in her grade here and you wonder what the aim is for the Qatar associates buying £17k ones? Unless they recognise that a number of high class 2yos are bought in that range. Doomah perhaps not even a 70 and interesting to see how they choose to 'get rid'.

Blue Burmese confirming the FTO take of being usable 60s at some level and chasing Doomah hard while receiving 7lbs.

A lot of rolling around and general smallness behind and probably not a race to delve into much. But, Only Joking too geen and got behind and making ok ground in context to be 3rd beffore 1f out. One of the bigger ones and trainer should get he running competently and prob usable low-mid 60s. Bucklberry ran ok and a medium one in a small field so on some vague 'at least check' List. Chetan probably the biggest and in good condition. Had rolled around and lost ground in mid-race at BTON on the downhill and his unbalanced physical set-up an issue. Similar here and going ok in second when the pace was slack and running on-the-flat in a straight line. Soon rolling around and losing ground as the pace upped and having turned into a bend. Perhaps compete in an appalling quality seller on a flat, straight course. Arousal looking at slow and poor as she has before and Cap Ia Nna adding being unable to get balanced to being too small.

If Miss Van Gogh were trained by someone with a negative record with 2yos the summary would say a small, green and unready one who didn't show anything to suggest there was much there if you fixed those issues. Only respect for Fahey as a trainer and R O'Ryan as a judge of quality would make you think twice. The other thing to make you consider a bit further is how dire a lot of Northern Auction races are along with seller & claimers if they go that route. The shadow of 'Tagtale developing fom an appalling debut for Fahey this year to then be placed to win a dreadful Seller STO lengthens across the Scene.
