SUMMARY

CB Hills weekly blog = "This week we start off with a couple of nice two year old prospects...... Muhaarar runs at Doncaster - he has always gone nicely at home, but was a little nervy earlier in the year. The experience will definitely not be lost on him."

Presumably tough conditions and the time for this intermediate distance more than 3 seconds slower than the fast end of the 6f races here. Despite an average pace only the winner finishing the race off and some early complete fades from the weaker ones.

Muhaarar just a neat medium size and typical Hills stable turned out. Solidly built and 'big' in the context of this group. Broke well but then hauled back by 2L early and Hanagan looking like he was more interested in gettin him to settle. The sort of actions which can throw away winning chances in a faster race against better opponents. But, quality of opposition and the attritional race go Muhaarar plenty of time to get going and then wear Rec Connect down. Instructive video replay to watch Muhaarar engage RC around 1.5f out and RC breifly responds and stick with him. But, like watching a bigger wrestler dealing with a smaller one, Muhaarar just overpowers him. Going waya at the finish and handling the going so should stay well. Looking moore an OR78-83 typ than a high class one. See what level he is pitched at STO.

Red Connect a smaller 60s type and lacking scope. Running up a list of places in open maidens as sub 75 ones will. Trainer really should be targetting finding a weak race he can win, soon. Union Rose intermediate size between winner & RC and say 67-9 range. Ran a bit too free here then blockd as he tried to make his effort 2f out. Has a bit more scope than RC. Another poor run from the field he ran in LTO at DONC where he got a soft lead. That race looks messy and needs careful interpreting.

Vague promise from Arch Enemy in racing prominently and rasing some effort at 2f out before the fade. But trainer a negative to expect comprehendable development of AE's 2yo career from here on. Oud Malakiy a Fahey debut for Jaber Abdullah lacking the hype & support of Zuhoor Baynoona. A negative in PRev lacking size, readiness in condition and mental nous. Ran like a lesser one that Fahey will have to work to find a low quality race for her to compete to win (perhaps he would let McCabe sit in on that sort of discussion to learn a few 'placement' wrinkles).
