GS as on Decs. 2.5mm Rain Overnight. CoC Quote = "The running rail has been moved out by 3 yards between the 6f and 1 1/2f point. This means actual race distances will be: ....7f 15y (+13y)". Gabrial The Viking looking raw and young in his Breeze Video (only plays a part the Video). Solid & IP body but gawky neck and needs to strengthen below and a bit leggy and not fully controlled. Willing but does a laboured breeze and the power not there to turn over the faster action he has (yet?). Fahey in his SL piece = "Gabrial The Viking is a horse we bought at the breeze-ups and I just worry that seven furlongs might just stretch him a little in the [Maiden]. He’s fit and well and shows a bit at home too so is capable of running well on debut – providing he stays." Latest work Video for Le Rouquin shows him work 'with' three unraced colts. The three unraced colts working in a Lo3 and LR 2L behind them and a lan or 2 wider of them throughout. Rider not doing much on LR. Bulky looking Barefoot Dancer prob going best in the Lo3 if having to work a bit to move his bulk. Mezajy alongside and a bit smaller all round but bulky goes ok+. My Strategy a bit smaller & neater again and having to be niggled to stick with the other pair. LR smaller & neater than BD & Mezajy prob. =========== Post Race ============= Bell Website News on the day after this race = "Later on the card LE ROUQUIN failed to build on his Newmarket run. He was slowly away and was pushed along three furlongs out. He was struggling two furlongs out and was never a threat. He did not appear to handle the track and we know he is better than this run would suggest.". |
