GFG from GS on Decs. >CoC Quote = "Rail will be dolled out from 7f to approx 2f to provide fresh ground. 4f bend will be at minimum width. Adding 20yds". Elis Eliz another of those Breeze Videos which convinces you that all Breeze Sales would be best done on a consistent, flat, artifical surface. The conditions on the turf tracks at DONC, ASCT, NMKJ & (wherever Goresbridge does their Breezing) are too variable and make many 2yos looks worse than they are. Elis Eliz looking, smaller to small, compact bodied and short legged. On the plus side deep bodied and presumably a 'Little Bull' sprinter if anything. But she was lot 142 of 217 so a lot of horses had a go on the turf surface before she did, She starts off in centre track but never looking balanced and kicking divots up. Hangs left on the uphill undulation and ends up on the Stands' Rail. By which time the rider decides it is time to start applying the brakes. By any reasonable definition a Potential Buyer should be able to ask that the horse went back and did a 'Breeze' so we could all be wiser about the horse in motion. This breeze just told you she found loose and turned over turf on an undulating track too technical at the time. ===== Post Race ==== Now or Never stuff from jk Hughes on the smaller & narrow Renaissant and a no nonesense ride and check whether he got a whip ban. Dropping sub-75 ones to BTON has been a Hannon ploys for decades and this win brough their record at the course in 2014 to 8/15. Renaissant oddly recalcitrant and had to be carried into the stalls (not hard since she cant weight much) dismounted. Turned into her enthisiastic self once out of the stalls and Hughes keen to race in the lead and get a break on the others. Which he did from a wide draw and in cutting across the field after 1F assisted a knock on effect which tightened up thos on the rail including Siren's Cove & Stone Roses. With SR not showing the expected improvement and still looking a weak finisher Renaissant not left with much to beat having got e soft enough time in the lead on a downhill 6f. The way Hughes was using the whip in the last 1f 'Today was THE PLAN' and getting a win for a smaller one lacking scope achieved. |
