GGS from G on Decs. Average Pace and a mix of shapes and sizes. Vimy Ridge able to hang on by racing professionally and trying hard but not looking 70+ and lacking scope. Pres Rapide passing the trainer Quinn 'Shorter SP FTO' test but not looking a bigger model. A slightly bigger frame and build than VR and a bit more scope. Looked the likely winner when making ground inside 2f out unpressed. Took a bit longer to get going than jk probably expected-1f+ when asked for full effort. That and and usable pace meaning VR able to respond enough to win.. Dominic Cork a more compact model and ok depth with that. Perhaps a bit too compact and a smaller model. Matched VR's effort for 0.5f+ but then getting tired and fading in the last 0.5f. Not looking real 70+ level. Reassert perhaps around 60 but not running to that low level yet. Crabbing RH and looking a bit pained in the last 2F and not changing lead. Danot a small one and seems a trier but underpowered and no interest. Grim fascination with what keep Alan Berry going with a training liecence. Shamkhani predictably small and underprepared and why would you bother? Oregon Gift a different type to the, ahem, 'readier' types around him. A taller, slightly more narrow bodied one and looking a bit out of place in a 'precocious' field. Went along ok for first 2F to the average pace but looking a bit disorganised in his gallop and climbing a bit in front. Predictably that meant he got outpaced and unbalanced when the pace upped and not helped by being caried RH then suqeezed out (Gap going faster than he was) as DCork rolled away from the rail. Did seem to plug on a bit, at his own pace, in the final 1f when vaguely balanced and didn't seem to fade. Looking a MaJo 'type' in one given little tactical instruction at home and started in the wrong sort of race in a fast 5f in the flat. The sort to improve later, hopefully when generally unexpected, when upped in trip and with his stabilisers fitted. Say over 7.5f at BVLY sometime. |
