Apparently a Juvenile Course Record. Another Apprentice hauled in and No action taken anyway. Stewards' Enquiry Text = "The Stewards held an enquiry into the running and riding of FOLLOW THE FAITH, ridden by Charles Bishop and trained by Mick Channon, which appeared to be tenderly ridden throughout the race to finish ninth, beaten 17 3/4 lengths. They interviewed the rider and the trainer's representative. They also received a report from the Veterinary Officer who confirmed that a post-race examination of the filly failed to reveal any abnormalities. The rider stated that his instructions were to take his time, as the filly had run very green in her previous two races, and to finish as best he could. He further added that he felt FOLLOW THE FAITH may not have faced the kickback and had lugged left in the home straight when asked for an effort. The representative stated that she was satisfied with the ride and felt that the filly would benefit from the run. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race, the Stewards noted their explanations.". |
