GFG from G F on Decs. 4mm of Rain on Sat. Stalls Far Side. You're Cool looking the slightly taller and precocious type of his sire and with a bit more bulk than the narrow ones. Has some range in front and uses some of it in the Breeze. Shows a fast action and ok speed but overall the 'blast' looking ok but a bit ragged around the edges. Straight breeze but something not quite timed right at points and gets tired late on. Gives the impression of a 'Short Fast Blast' machine rather than a organised racehorse. Which may be because that is what he has been prepared for at the Sale. Later season debut here and has he developed physically since the sale and become more professional? Or is he the same ragged edged Blaster who might be on the cusp of losing the precociousness edge he might have usefully had in May/June? ==== Post Race ==== Trainer Osborne took 3 runs to get a win with an unusually zippy one with Prize Exhibit He has now had 3 goes with La Cuesta and hasn't managed it. LC a smaller type then PExhibit but clearly more zip than the size suggests. LC travelled ok in the Queen Mary and made an ok effort 2f out but a weak finish through the last 1f. Which, with hindsight, makes Osborne choice of a 5.4f race here some size of mistake. LC running a touch free but nothing like as much as, the bulkier, Beau Eile. LC travelling well and kicking clear inside the last 2f and going past both BE & Brando. But, LC stalling and fading early and headed before 0.5f out and losing ground before being hampered (Gap Faster) to drop her well behind.the leading 3. Bamboccianti hauled to the back and looking a touch outpaced at timed before halfway and several travelling better to there. But, Bamboccianti able to make enough forward effort to be challenging inside 1f out anyway and staying on best. Not just staying on past tired horses. You're Cool going ok to past halfway and looking organised but inside the last 2f the wheels-came-off. When asked to make an effort jinked Right and got unbalanced and then not helped by Zuzinia fading back on his line. But, YC looking incapable of getting balanced and going around here. Instead jolting Left, Right or up and back and the jk had to ease him in the end. Timing issue? |
