SUMMARY
GFG by Race Time. G as on Decs. Stands Side Course in use.

Hannon website the day before = "We are also doubly-represented in the two-year-old novice race at Newmarket. Kool Company [sic] has a big white face which is why we maybe only had to pay 40 grand for him at Doncaster, but he won nicely at Leicester first time out and we like him. We also have Dougal, who bumped into one (Justice Good) at Windsor on his debut but duly went one better at Brighton next time. This is the natural progression for both of them, but Dougal has the bigger penalty."

Slower time by 0.25s than the earlier fillies' maiden. Presume a slower pace here (?) and barely a 2F sprint carrying more weight than the fillies. Dougal & Dobbs getting a soft lead on the rail and jk on Justice Good doing a good job to creep forward on the outside before the pace upped so that JG could engage Dougal as soon as the final efforts went. At WDSR the pair had looked evenly matched and might have duelled to the line together if Hughes had pressed the 'Go' button on Dougal. Here, they were exactly evenly matched. Both 80+ but prob not much higher?

Good looking effort from Outlaw Country getting a clear run down the outside and chasing those two to the line and able to get past them on the pull-up. Looking less of a precocious 2yo than first two and more range. Ok to follow.

Burtonwood every chance in 2R on RL but not able to match efforts of first two and lower 70s. Note how his form fits in with Clouds Rest

Surprise to see the smaller filly Bronze Maquette favourite here against some bigger males. Like Burtonwood seemed to lack the efforts of the first 3 home and another in 70s.

Black Granite with the credentials to be a good debut as an expensive one for a Ready FTO trainer. But a smaller one in context and green and sweating to add to the issues. Looked more like 'Surplus Stock' getting going which probably explains the SP. Noseda doesn't have 'cheap ones' and €105k about an average levewl for him.

My Mate smaller type and lacking build of Dougal or JG. Ran much too freely in the leading line to the slow pace and only a mild effort before bumpred and fading. Check if he might be around 70.

More bonehead stuff from Barzalona on Four Seasons. Both Appleby FTOs slow starts here and both going to the rail after getting going. Jk on OC made early move to outside of slow moving group to get a clear run. Barzalona sat in 3R on the rail and then swtiched to Lane 1 to try to get a run ins-2f. Seemed to aim FS at a non-existent gap between MM and another. Then got chewed up and spat out abuptly sideways to centre track when the gap never opened. No response from FS afterwards so need to judge further but on this running the 2nd String looked better anyway - a common occurrence with Godolphin.
