Jk Hughes typically forthcoming with useful info the interviewer never thought to ask. Said Tiggy Wiggy had settled better and got a "very Easy lead". He said he had waited to increase the pace until 20yds before the 2F pole (i.e. at 'the distance or 'the bushes') and knew then it was going to take something terrific to beat TW off the easy time in the lead. Added that she had grown "4 inches" since the spring (she won the 2nd race of the season on March 29th). Both Hughes & Hannon jnr making a point of saying that TW doesn't work with others at home and goes off to be ridden alone by her regular work rider. Hannon saying that effectively he didn't train TW because he left it to the work rider to get on with it (presumably he knows TW best). Hannon saying that he would consider the Prix de L'Abbaye the following weekend because "..this was her year.." and worry about what the 3yo season would bring some other time. Hughes very dubious when asked whether he thought she would stay 8f and be a 1,000 Guineas type. Given the Hannon quote then 'not training on' is another possibility.
