Castle Talbot expensive at the Arqana Breeze Sale at Deauville (video embedded in Catalougue page). Breeze Video shows a medium on and ok build. Most notable point seems to be his movement. Balanced front to rear but seems to throw his forelegs high with little KA (straight pendulum stuff). Doesn't show any variation in action and, on the flat turf course, goes along straight and level. How is that going to look on the uphill here? Does he have more variation in movement to show? Will Prince Frank make all that academic by burying him at the back before easing him early...

Taysh looking a medium, deep & IP barrel in his Breeze Video. Ready type of Frame and not grow much? Does a straight breeze unremarkably and gets notably tired late on. Hard to see what in the Breeze made him 170k.

Stewards' Enquiry Text (He has promised to retire and save us all this repeated nonsense...) = "The Stewards held an enquiry into the running and riding of CASTLE TALBOT (IRE), ridden by Jamie Spencer and trained by Charles Hills, which was held up in rear and stayed on in the final one and a half furlongs to finish third, beaten 4 1/2 lengths. They interviewed the rider and the trainer's representative. They also received a report from the Veterinary Officer. The rider stated his instructions were to drop the colt in as he was very keen at home having been purchased from the breeze up sales, and to get him relaxed in order to see out the race. He added that the colt was taken down to the start at a trot as he was difficult to hold. He further added that having missed the break, which he reported at scales, the colt merely stayed on past tired horses and that he had ridden in such a way to obtain the best possible placing. The trainer's representative confirmed these instructions and stated that he was satisfied with the ride given. He added that the colt is a very difficult ride at home and not many of the staff are able to manage him. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race the Stewards noted their explanations."
