GF by race time. GFG from GGS on Decs. Rail out further than previously this season. 10yds out at 6f pole down to 4yds at the Finish Line. Race changed to be a Novice from the usual Conditions Race? Or Novice upgraded to Class 2 & Penalty Value of £9,704. Average Pace at most and other jockeys allowing Hughes to XF on Kool Kompany with no effort, then allowed him to dictate the pace to suit himself. Probably an example of Hughes being ble to change plan if necessary. KK an average break from the widest stall and Hughes looking to take back and drop-in. When it became clear before 0.5f done that no-one was going to lead Hughes effectively said 'Thanks' and took the present offerred. Race then turned into less than a 2F sprint with KK not looking best suited to that and always holding the smaller Merdon Castle but looking like KK suited by 6f or a faster pace. Similar on debut when he took a long time to get going and only got to the lead late on and still going forward. The LEIC race he won working out solidly and mostly as expected (check when Majestic Hero runs). Merdon Castle mid 70s and had shown a better ability to change gear when winning a slower paced race FTO against lesser types. Elsworth also seems to have his 2yos well forward in fitness in 2014. Paddy Again a compact one with little range in her movement (all fast action) but moving awkwardly and barely reaching out at all before Hf and dropped. Another Turner runner ok for a few runs fom early season then things starting to wrong before May ends. For example, Twist And Shout dismounted after the line in the Mf race on the equivalent WDSR evening in 2013 and hasn't run since. Bronze Maquette running just 3 days after a poor run, as favourite, in a tough race at NMKT. As in that race she just looks small compared to the colts and £40k a steep price. Breeze-up sales seem to need people to keep thinking straight and not got drawn into believing the hype and unproven inferences made from the extra info Breezes provide. |
