Tedious but use GSS as the Going for all 3 races. Full story is that Meeting Started on Official Soft with the Bends GS which has no effect on the Straight Sprints. But, Official Going Changed from S(GS on Bend) to GSS after the 3rd Race despite a cool day. S from GSS on Decs. Rain as 12mm Mon, 2mm Tue, 5mm Wed, 1.4mm Thu. Medium to Stiff SSW Wind = 3/4 Tailwind from the Left in the HS. Rails Fully In. Stalls Stands Side. Like the first 2yo race the majority of the Field Fading early on and only the front 2 finishing the race off to any reasonable level. Also hard to make ground and only Quintus Cerialis making a solid job of making some progress in the last 2f before fading. Race playing out like a SWEL race where early pace and handling the conditions very impotant and any horses not handling the conditions coming under pressure early and fading early. Handome Dude still looking Medium at most and perhaps a bit lighter build. Smaller & less bulky than Brando but handling the conditions well and not fading fully by the finish with Brando's action already staring to break up. Otherwise HD unrecognisable from the green and hesistant type he was on debut when driven along thoughout the race and only mildly plugging on in the last 1f when down the Ramp and off the worst of the 'Ridge & Furrow' at RIPN. Official going GGF that day but race run in heavy rain with water cascading off the mid-race camera as it turned to follow the horses. Another mild lesson in not underestimating Mr Barron. |
