GSS as on Decs. Fahey in his SL piece = "We have three in the Maiden. Akeed Champion has his first start for us and worked very nicely during the week. I hope and think he’s going to run a big race. Cadeau Magnifique is a bit thick and is having to learn with racing. He hasn’t shown a great deal on the track so far but does show us a bit at home. Montefalcon is a horse I liked early but he’s grown and become a little weak. He’s a horse for next year but does have ability.". [Oct 28th ] Navigate & Norton run against each other in a 6f maiden as their NTOs. Navigate making smooth progress in the CZ here and a good kick at 2f out to lead on Cent-FrSd alone (with most of field Centre-Stands Side spread). As at SDWN on debut Navigate showing a good kick but then folding in the last 1f to hide that in the final results as he fades back. Drop to 6f looks fine on how he has travelled in SDWN/YORK races. Nortron looking a Medium one with Ok Bild and showing at least a medium KA. At 3f out Nortron level with Navigate (taller) but on opposite sides of the group. As Navigate makes smooth progress in the CZ to be leading line at 2F out to make his kick into the lead. Nortron not able to match that and 2R at 2F out and producing less of a kick and fading a little earlier. Nortron can develop for STO and being a bit more knowing but hard to see him matching Navigate over 6f on what shown here. |
