Race played out like a Slower pace and a 2F+ Sprint in the HS and Zari able to produce a solid effort off a soft lead and still going forward at the line. Horses in 3rd-5th through Halfway should have done better given the race set-up. Gentle Persuasion racing 2Wd around the bend then continuing to Hang Left in the HS and ending up near the Stands' Rail so presume some unreported issue. Ninepins looking to be in a good spot turning into the HS in 2R on the rail. Jk Hughes niggling before 2F out and probably not getting the response he expected with the horse's Head out to the left. But, even given that, Hughes then dropped into his 'Rocking Horse' acting inside the last 2f where he moves his elbows and forearms but without tranferring any of the 'apparent' urging to the horse (like sitting on a motionless & rickety Rocking Horse pretending you are a jockey). Then easing the horse before 1f out but no WTRB report made. Jk on Asima seemed to be doing much the same as Hughes and easy to read that as riding for a usable OR mark. Jk on Asima was A3 Hardie who is the Hannon's current apprentice (not for long because you use up your claim too quickly there) and has probably spent too much time looking at how-Hughsie-does-it. Ershaadaat showing what could be done in terms of Closing if both the Horse & Jockey were willing to get-on-with-it. Slower Break and ended up 3R on the Rail but modes on to Ln1 for progress in the CZ and at least matched Zari's effort for 1.5f+ of the last 2f sprint. Ershaadaat starting to tire late on & Avergae Size int he Group. |
