- Philip Edward Hide. Former NH jockey who rode around 400 winners during his career. Retired from riding in 2010 due to injuries. In May 2013 he was awarded £58,000 compensation in a long running case against Jockey Club Racecourses. He was injured at Cheltenham when he was thrown into a solid upright post which was holding the rails in place. He fractured his pelvis, had head injuries and was put into an induced coma as part of his stabilisation & recovery. His injuries required one hip joint to be replaced. He said that on watching the replay of his fall he felt i was clear that a small change to remove the solid post he collided with would have changed his life.
- Announced in late 2012 that he had taken out a training licence and woul have 18 boxes at the Findon yard that Nick Gifford trained at. Said that he would be having flat as well as NH runners.
