GF from GFG on Decs. Watering as 6mm on Saturday.
=== Pre Race ===
Trainer Swnbank a terrible 2013-14 with no win after being a well above average operator for an extended period. That included a good record with sourcing usable 2yos for lower prices and an interesting 'Peak STO' MO. What problems 2013-14? Dominannie a Breeze buy and her Breeze Video starts with her head held high as being held back from pulling. Doesn't look a fast 5f type in the breeze with an average cadence at most and a bit of reach/curl in front looking a touch of a relative galloper (staying on here?). Smaller medium & sire type, including the white face.
=== Post Race ===
[June 13th] Slower time and a moderate to poor race. Field taken along at a usable in centre track by Crombay. First 2 able to pul 2L+ clear of the 3rd+ in the last 1.5f. But, that seems to amount to 60s form at most. Pippin Street beaten in the Rous seller since (as fav), Roaring Rory a NR in a BVLY claimer and Little Lotte & Tontito both running very poorly in a THSK class 6 auction at 50/1 & 100/1.
Pippin Street looking smaller & a bit lighter build in context here and raises a question over what level Muhadathat is who ran alongside for the whole of their debuts.
Halsall already sold on to Hambleton Racing from Armstrong and has been entered for the London Sale at KTNA on the eve of RASCT. That sale's first edition in 2014 saw ridiculous prices paid for lesser physical types (incl those with ASCT entries). Halsall seems a type we will see more of presumably as the evidence comes along that you can sell 'anything' for £50,000+ at that sale. Had a look through the subsequent performances of the 2yos sold at that sale in 2014 and they wouldn't be 'value' if you had paid £25k for each of them.
Crombay probably the biggest in a smaller to small field, broke well and running a bit free in the lead. Travelled best in the last 2f but eventually worn down by 3TO Halsall. Much better than typical TDE debut and perhaps ok for 71.
