SUMMARY
Medium to Light Tailwind in the HS.

=== Pre Race ===

Caledonian Gold sold at the premier Tatts 2yo sale. Breeze Video begins with the long shot and CG kicking off from the 2f pole (yellow post round marker). Presume a slow time because CG spends the first 1f ot the breeze wandering left then right and never balanced. Rider over-reacting a bit and not organising her. CG finally gets settled and going forward more in the last 0.5f. Looking a mdeium size, strongish front, longer type body of her sire. Since her pedigree is just ok and the breeze flawed does the 48k indicate a solid sized one of the sire. Green in her breeze but trainer D'Darcy can get competitive FTOs with the usable ones.

Cosmopolitan Girl sold for 90k compared to 48k at the same 2yo sale. By new sire Dream Ahead who has a large first crop but only had two early runners (1 x 5f winner & another prmising over 6f). This will be the 5th debut for the sire since May 28th as, presumably, his main batch of reps will start to debut.

Breeze Video for Cosmopolitan Girl starts at the 3f pole (red marker) and includes the side on shot. Perhaps medium size with body length. Looking muscled up and (over)-prepared for the day. 2f Breeze just ok and runs straight but never fully balanced on the undulations. Trying too hard and looking a free runner, but also a trier. Just on the videos you might say CGold is bigger than CGirl and a similar type. Check how they compare in PRev.

=== Post Race ===

Slower Pace and Time. Azhar able to jog to the lead in the BS and to the rail. Then settled the pace and the field stacked in 2s & 3s around the bend. But, letting the front pair get a 1-2L break for free with 3rd at Halfway - Caledonian Gold racing much too freely and held/FFH for most of way to Hf. 4th at Hf - Lady Nayef running too wide and 5th at Hf - Leap - racing a touch freely so held back by jk Hughes (3L back at Hf when might have been, say, 1.5L back).

Not an 'easy' race and field to sum up because the better horses in PRev not in the first 3. Which means you can go too far in making excuses and someone who just reads the race result on the page might do better overall as the season unfolds. Try this take and check it as more evidence comes to light.. Azhar smaller but ok build and perhaps has a bit of zip above her size. 2.5L win here but able to turn the race into a 1.5f sprint in the HS with a 1.5L head start. Only made 1-2L over the 2nd, Say OR76 and might rate higher. Will presumably try Novice+ race but looks a below average prospect.

Gendolyn smaller and around 70 and only finished 2nd here by being 2nd when the late race spring started and being fit and ready for STO. Better fillies behind.

Justice Angel running 2 wide on the bend. Jk waiting a bit too long to make her effort wide in the HS. Made about 1L on Gwendolyn before fading back. Say OR73-4.

Hannon stable has debuted 5 x fillies in the race in the period 2012-14 with all 5 finishing in the 3rd-6th range. 4 of the 5 won as 2yos ranging from around 70 to 80+ fillies. The one non-winner ended the 2yo season at OR76 and got OR80s at 3yo. With that model the 2 x Hannon fillies look typical. Leap a home bred and perhaps the biggest in the field. Coud have been sat 2R 1 wide but started running freely in the BS (a number did as Azhar dropped the pace once leading) and Hughes dropped into teach-to-settle mose. Leap making about a 1.5L forward move in last 2f looking a bit green then fading back. Bigger and better filly than than Gwendolyn & JAngel and 78+. Worth noting that Hannon has had only 5 x FTO wins so far from 50 goes and a niggling feeling he has shown us less quality than usual so far, and/or perhaps tweaked the prep a bit. FTO wins for the stable usually need a better one or an accident (in a weak race) but a number of vaguely touted ones, eg Aguerooo, Palawan & Viren's Army have seemed to not come up to expectations FTO. Perhaps Leap to some extent. Something to keep in mind.

She's All Mine 33/1 to Leap's 9/2 but clearly not that range of ability between them. The 33/1 some 'Second String' effect. As the circumstantials would suggest SAM a usable 70+ of the type the trainer starts in this race. Quiet trip in midfiled on the rail and an ok effort in the HS for not much asking. All fine.

Sense Of Fun lloking an ok size on debut although too green to compete. Has not developed that well physically but still a lot better than she showed here. say 70+. A slower break then hauled to the back as she ran a touch free in the BS. Effectively never put in the race with the jk taking time to find a gap 2f out then happy with some mild progress. Appleby does seem to develop 2yos for nurseries now the regime has changed and not the show-me-what-you-can-do-NOW approach the norm for many years. SOF being brought along quietly as if Godolphin were some small stable with 5 x 2yos and a 70+ one a 'star'? Surely not. Has it come to this?

Caledonian Gold a bigger than average one in the field and bigger than Cosmopolitan Girl as the Breeze Videos suggested. The worst puller behind the pace and ok for 75+ if she settles down.

Cosmopolitan Girl reported to have worked with Shaden who won FTO at NOTT on Wednesday. Trainer Walker now rents part of Henry Cecil's Warren Place yard and shares the facilities with Jane Cecil (Shaden's trainer). B2yoR finding the Shaden race a bit baffling in the same manner as this one with the winners a smaller one and better looking fillies in the field. Perhaps a similar take to this race but the NOTT race and odd 'shape' with the final 2f sprint ending up with 5 x fillies spread across the track together and Shaden making ground from behind. Shaden zippier than she looks?

Whatever the truth of that, Cosmopolitan Girl a bit smaller than CGold and medium size with some body length as thought. Ok muscled in the picture but looking a bit wary (overawed?). Broke ok but mildly crosed by Azhar then started running too free. Hauled back and hung left as doing it and ended up well back. Looking a bit wary again once well behind the slower pace. Niggled before 2f out and wary again and little happening when asked for an effort then hanging right. She must be better than she showed but presumably not as good as "working with debut winner Shaden and should be thereabouts today" would make her sound. 70-74? and need the right sort of Open Maiden to compete in STO?
