More interesting video to watch than a 2 horse race sounds. Both horses running a bit free and a bit green but jk Moore managing to get Raucous to race a bit more professionally by not doing much. Just give the horse a calm lead and quiet signals rather than getting involved in a tug-of-war or a spot of anaconda wrestling. An average pace at most and a 2f sprint.

Raucous coming with a reputation and trainer Haggas had ensured he had his main go-to jk riding. Raucous a solid medium size and build at least without looking a powerhose. In line with his presentation in his yearling picture. No bigger than his rival here but moved better & more efficiently and going away at the finish and seeing the race out. The picture above shows him late in the race having seen off AMM and some points to make. The first is how well he is using his range and reaching out in front, pointing his tow while it all looks 'right' and poised. The picture shows he isn't a compact, bull, 5f sprinter doing it all on power and high cadence. Looks fine for 85+ on movement. Also note the pricked ears which he had through most of the race. Face not showing any signs of fatigue and still alert.

A Momentofmadness looking a worthwhile oppoent and at least as tall as Raucous and perhaps a bit more build and a bit less body length. Unlike the winner while running too free his action gets too high in front and he gets unbalanced. AMM having solid reach/range in front but the whole system not as organised (yet?). That high action and rolling about a bit meaning he lost 1L+ on Raucius in the 4th 1f then got tired int he last 1f. But, looks ok for 75+ on size but still a bit to polish up in movement terms. Might he look better allowed to roll along on a flat track? If he has a high looking action on an uphill track how will that fare on a flat track?
