GF in early Am from GFG on decs. 3mm Watering Thursday Evening. Stalls Stands Side. === Pre Race === Breeze Video for Rosina showing a solid medium and ready filly by the sire. Mostly balanced set-up but breeze less good. Partly because a bit green and spooky, ears pricked at times and wandering around a bit. But also because she has a busy action without much range and some knee action if front. Lack of range due to backing off as spooky or this really how she moves. === Post Race === [June 27th] Stalls Stands side and a ragged break overall. Kodimoor leading for being competent and taking the field Cent-Stds strip and an easy lead. Field spread over 5L+ at Halfway in 2-2-3-1 formation and spread to do with raggedness. Similar spread (VTL converted) at the Finish. Field developed into a barely 2f sprint and judge changes, etc, inthat context. Given the race Pace & Shape a good, prob better than good, effort by Rosina to get from 3L+ back at Halfway to pull a little clear. Travelling best and having to find a gap in the spread of horses ahead involved in a fairly static battle between them in the last 2f. Rosina clearly mentally better than for her breeze. Spencer unusually active and prominent on Geno including using the whip in the last 1f as if this-is-THE-Day. Slow break as Frank usually gets but then hustling Geno to get going rather than doing nothing. Geno in 2R and mostly settled. Travelling fine 2f out and having to switch left to get a gap and producing enough of a forward effort to be in a Lo4 at 1f out challenging for the lead (with Kodimoor, Secret Ambition & Wolowitz). Able to persist with his effort long enough to 'outlast' that group but trumped by Rosina seeming to be plain faster and better. Geno looking a medium frame with a solid build and typical Ryan sprinter shape. Wolowitz running alongside Geno for much of the race. A similar frame, perhaps a touch taller, but less width/bulk in front. Making a similar forward effort to Geno inside 2f out despite being niggled a bit before 2f out. Perhaps still heading Geno 0.5f+ out but then stalling and fading early to lose touch with the hard ridden Geno. Similar ability level or a touch below Geno? [June 30th] Back To Bond not as bulky as his yearling picture suggested. Neat medium with some length and some range in front. Did a lot wrong here in what turned into an Educational ride. Jk clearly expected him to start to pull and hauled him back early. Did run too free in 3R and dropped a bit further back after some FFH. Going ok towards 2f out when the late race sprint started but hanging left. Steps up to 6f 3TO and some encouragement from the low level plugging on to the line later on and up to 3rd not long after. |
