GF in early am as on decs. Watering as 6mm Thu, 6mm Sat, 3mm Sun. Rail fully in for the first time this season. === Post Race === Raj To Riches a late 60s physical type but precocious, very fit and tries hard. Started off with 2 x 2nds where he ran a bit too hard and caught late. Trainer tried various things to get him to settle down in the prelims and in the race. None had really worked and 3-5TO poor to moderate efforts for various reasons along wiht his over-racing. RTR looking more settled here in the lead and not hassled by either of the fillies in 2R. Comfortably run down by the green, hanging but much bigger and bulkier Alkhor but RTR trying hard to the line. But, fading late on even in this set up on a flat track and an easy lead and a vague tailwind. Declared to run again tomorrow at BTO over 5.3f with an uphill finish. Went mildly berserk in the lead their on 5TO and, like here, only fully fading very late on. Interesting to note the lucky winner of that previous race at BTON (Mirage) was sold for £340k at the 'London Sale' around the time RTR was running here. Does that make RTR worth £300k?? Must be missing something. Baffling. |
