SUMMARY
GS as on Decs.

Fahey SL piece 2 days before the race = "Hyland Heather is a similar type [to Awohaam] who runs in the Maiden Fillies' Stakes and however the filly at Newmarket runs, she’ll do the same. I like her."

No 'fluke' to French's win if helped by the Dods/Fahey runners getting tired in the last 0.5f. In PRev nothing standing out and the race looking a competitive edition but not a strong one. Smart Mover below average for power even in this group. French not in picture until loaded and noticeable her height more than the others when loaded. Try looking at the video of the race before the stalls open and French's Jk's head comfortably above the others. French a bit green but overall the biggest and seemed the 'right' winner. Presume Brittain will aim her at the Hilary Needler. Has some scope and perhaps 80+ real term. .

Brittain's assistant interviewed after the race and said, quoting, "She has been catching pigeons at home". But noted they only had 5 x home bred 2yos for 2015. Assistant said he thought Brittain would aim her at 'York'. So, presumably the Marygate and a bit above average prospect for that from this sort of maiden which can often be just smaller and ready types.

=== Post VRev ===

French winning comfortably despite being a bit green overall and not knowing what to do immediately when asked for action. Also, nut fully balanced at times on the course (although generally not as 'seasick' a race as often here). Ok for 80+ and improve for being more professional. Reportedly fizzy in the prelims as well but seemed just youthfulness.

Hyland Heather an expensive one by FSS Lilbourne Lad (so is Richter Scale). Smaller and compact type and ok power for size. Balanced mover at the walk and not fully fit. Inefficeint race run to some extent because after getting to the Leading Line the Jk held her back and then got squeezed back. Which led to HH having to make a long run out wide to make progress. Not showing anything different in top pace to the others but plus mark for keeping going long enough to get to 2nd before the fade. Seems 70+ and with Fahey will get around 75 but a bit small for much scope?

Richter Scale Smaller Medium and about the best built in the field (French a taller and rangier type).Not as fit as come of Dods' FTO. Ran the race inefficiently starting with being leant on the side of stalls then breaking RH and bumping with Zeeda. RS having been troublesome to load and having reared away twice on offer and loaded last in the end. Made a long forward move on the wide outside after the slow start to join the Leading Line after 1f+ and lead before 2f run. Continued going forward and able to cross to the rail at Halfway having cleared the other pair in the Leading line. Just an ok effort at 2yo out and fading a bit early, presumably not helped by the race run. Looks fiine for an OR70s sprint 2yo and should rate 75+.

This THE race where Tim Easterby would run the best filly he has ready from the big pile of horses he buys to try to find some usable ones (sub-Random Process). Zeeda a cheap but and a smallish one and her SP perhaps more to do with the Trainer MO. Drawn widest and ended up last after a slow start. Plus mark for sustained low level plugging on to get past the lesser types in the race. But, didn't show anything to think a better TDE one (if he has one). Usable mid 60s in the North?

Smart Mover ending up a close 3rd favourite having and we could term her being so short in the Market here 'The Power of Form'. With the majority of people throwing their hands in the air with unraced horses and declaring "There's nothing to go on.." (The Toiletless Excuse), an audience trained on reading the 'Form Book' as the way to analyse races will fall on any 'Form' as the answer. Convince yourself SM "showed some early pace FTO and should come on for the run" and so on. But, she looks the sub 60 one in PRev as expected and overpowered by bigger fillies. 55?

Profile rating for Millennium Falcon too high and getting too 'intimidated' by the 2014 success of Burke and general respect for the owners. Burke's early debuts have not been ready to put a race together yet and MF a small to smaller one, if balanced set-up and a smooth walker. Too green to keep with the group to past halfway and not helped by being the most unbalanced on the undulations. Hard to get the 'niggling respect' to go away and just judge her on Size/Type and lower 60s.

Blue Smoke the smallest and some cheap speed before an early fade. Passionateprincess more interesting although another smaller one. Did show some reasonable speed to take the field along until the bigger/stronger RS pulled by her. Early fade after a brief effort 2f out. Another usable 60+ or sub-60?
