Moderate to Average Race for the Track. Small field but a Wild Pace War with, from rail out, Firesnake, Nag's Wag & Rogues' Gallery hooking up into a pressing Lo3. Firesnake backing out by Halfway. The other 4 spread over miles given the Pace plus their greenery/lack of pace. RG able to mount a bit of a kick inside last 2f to head NW but both of them reduced to a walk by 1f out and NW able to get back to lead again late on by not expiring completely. How tired the Lo3 got shown by the small and limited That'll Happen closing up to them in the last 1f and the adrift pair of Bukle & Fast Gold able to get back into the picture. Poor Form level.

Typical Dascombe over exuberance and reminiscent of his upbeat talk about his first runner in 2014 - Don Sigfredo. He wasn't ready or fit enough to compete FTO despite the bluster and a similar physical type to Firesnake = a smaller, deeper bodied, compact sprinter. Don Sigfredo eventually won 6TO in a nursery zipping around CHES off OR76. Firesnake a comparable 70+ type? Evans delayed his 2yo runners and they have been competing well since he started running them again. Nag's Wag an NR on the first day of the season so nearly 3 weeks extra work since when she was ready to run. Ok size in this group and clearly fit enough FTO to survive the Pace War best. That'll Happen looking a good 'marker' horse and looking as small and moderate mover as the Work Video suggested. TH a marker for the form here and also for the other 2yos he was in the Work Video with.

[Check] 19 races gone in 2015 and ALL won by Newcomers. Indicative of the slow, lesser quality, start to the season? 2014 = 5 x STO wins in first 19 races and 7 in first 21. In 2013 = 8 x S/3TO winners in first 19 races and 11 in first 23. In 2012 = 8 of first 19 races won by S/3TOs. 2015 seems notably different so far, in detail.
