SUMMARY
GF early AM from GGF on Decs. Watering as 3-5mm but No day given and says 'Selectively' (... to ensure a Random Track Bias..?).

Rail out by 4yds at 6f pole narrowing down to 2yds at the Finish Line.

Medium- ENE Wind = Direct Headwind to the Intersection then a 3/4 Headwind from the Left in the HS.

==============

Evans Jks = Bates (A3) Sweet Taboo (2ndCols), Donohoe Pity Cash (1stCols), Gannon Frivolous Lady, de Sousa Silver Springs.

Q Ten Girl the first Breeze Up runner of the year and did not reach her reserve on April 1st at ASCT. QTG looking a smaller one, a bit narrow (aspect ratio screwed up on the VT). Breezes away from the rail and carrying a poor quality & oversized rider using long stirrups yet still sitting high. Shows no command and doesn't niggle in rhythm witht he horse. QTG does a mostly straight breeze down the centre but with her ears pricked and just going a basic pace (ignoring the rider). Doesn't show much range and presumably a slow breeze. Smaller but uncomplicated.

Shine Likeadiamond only the 2nd runner of season for Channon and another home bred by Atlantic Sport. Appears in 3 x Work vidoes. March 3rd worked with lead plus other 2yo fillies Special Queen & Kassia. Unpressed work and 3 x 2yos finish together looking similar sizes/types. SL a bright chestnut and smaller but perhaps ok build and seems to do the work comfortably. 17th March works with lead horse plus the same pair of fillies + 2yo filliy by Lilborne Lad (more than one in HiT list). Different shape to the work and seems to be set up to let SL & Kassia head the lead horse and go on. Which SL does comfortably with Kassia tailing her. Special Queen held at the back. April 10th work seems another different set-up with a much better lead horse (Shore Step) going along at a faster pace and not stopping to allow others past but leading them at a good clip to stress them a bit. SL in the work with Kassia and 3 other 2yo fillies. SL again looking to go well and two positives. In all 3 videos she looks mature and calm and listening to the rider. Here, she seems to be held up at the back with Kassia behind the other 3 x 2yo fillies. But, SL always going comfortably and with the leading 3 niggled to some extent cruises past them with Kassia tagging her at the finish. Leaving aside what the ability level being shown is the rest seems positive, a mature attitude and does the work offerred comfortably.

=== Post VRev ===

Race with a long history and often with a large field. Has a good record of producing subsequent winners although the majority below Open Maiden level (given the sales price limitation on runners). Can produce OR80+ ones at times and the best in the last 6 years was the Hannon trained Best Terms who won at Group level as a 2yo before the reality of her smallness caught up with her at 3yo. The Hannon reps often the 'Class' of the field. A race which in the last 3-6 years has had a good record of sorting the fillies out by ability at the finish, to a large extent.

This year looking an average edition and lacking some of the sources of relatively better types of recent years such as Cox & Kirk. But still interesting and a number of promising types if mostly at sub Open Maiden level. A look at the Halfway Postions to Final Placings suggest a too Strong Pace and the first 6 home are made up the best/only Stalk & Pouncer winning followed by 4 Deepish Closers of various types. The previous sentence purposely leaves out Stormflower whose run was exceptional & puzzling in a number of ways. Note than the 3 Closers in the first four home ran the Rail for much of the race and visibly two groups (near rail & off rail to centre) and a some hints it was easier to make ground near the rail than wide out. Worth keeping the ideas of a too strong pace and rail advantage in mind when assessing the fillies' performances.

Great Page as the only Hannon rep an obvious candidate in Profile as an Open Maiden type. The stable often run two in the race and quite often both are 70+. Also, an early debut for these owners (you could make a good case for the Hannon & MPRacing buying teams as the 'Best Two' operators in the whole game). GP looking the part in the Paddock, good size, solid build and well made. Not fully fit but usual relaxed attitude of a Hannon 2yo. Ready enough and good enough versus this field. Hughes ill so Levey riding and noticeable how all the Hannon Jks end up with similar traits on 2yos and ride them well. GP able to sit off the pace a bit in the rail and Levey made a move to stop running into a pocket on the rail early (Spencer should note). Solid effort to get to the lead and finished the race off well. Looks solid 75+.

Worth also noting that ATR's Chapman would call himself a "terrible judge" of the Paddock (usual kow-towing to supposed Racing Insider innate knowledge). But, at WDSR the previous weak he had stated clearly that the Hannon rep in the 2yo race (Fit) looked small and unappealing and she ran as he suggested. Here, he was positive about Great Page and said she looked and good size and ready enough. Absolutely right and a good example of the type of information that is just 'lying around' in the Paddock in the Prelims but is mostly ignored in Race Analysis. ATR usually spend more time talking to Bookies' Nark, showing Adverts & Betting Displays over a static picture while the horses are walking around off screen with useful info radiating off them.

Alaskan Phantom the most expensive in the field when retained by the owner and now owned in Partnership by them. Trainer Kubler has made a good impression on B2yoR in his last 2 years and seems to get the wins he should. AP looking a good size and buld in her yearling picture. Trainer has not really suggested he gets tuned FTOs but on Profile she should run promisingly. Made a slow start from draw on the rail and in last place early on. Made progress along the rail to get back to 7th by Halfway and travelling ok in 2R at 2f out. A solid forward effort and looks OR70+. A bit lighter behind now although still a strongish front.

Stormflower an 'unbelievable' run in at least 2 ways. Trainer Bridger has had just 1 x 2yo winner and that was a 4TO in 2005 (finished 7th/11 FTO). He has not had a Debut 2yo place since 2005 (perhaps ever). Stormflower cost 4,200gns bought by her owner now. Which meant she was dismissable on Profile. Look at the Shape of the race and the pace was too strong and the two smaller fillies who chased her finished well back. Stormflower running too freely throughout the race yet still finding a response when tackled by GPage and only giving up 2nd to AP near the line. SHe has finished just behind the two biggest fillies in the field. A dreadful Profile runner who did most to contribute to a too Strong Pace finishing a good 3rd. None of this makes sense even given she ran the Rail. In Paddock Review not standing out as a lurking 'Big Girl' and a medium, narrow one but very fit for the day. Usable mid-60s & lack scope? Is this race less interesting than the Top Level take given Stormflower ran well? Or was the rail a real big advantage and does Stormflower have a bit more zip than her frame suggests? mutter, mutter.

Secret Tale a cheap buy and lacking a real 5f pedigree. But, the first runner for a Front-Loading trainer and the first rep for his new 'Bo Derek' partnerships. The actress being one of his new 'Best Friends' with Toast Of New York taking him to run in US races and meet a few slebs. ST a likeable type at her level in PRev enough size and mostly sensible attitude. Given her low sales price a very competitive type for Auction races (where weights are set by sales price). Like AP ended up at the back on the Rail for various reasons but then making solid progress in the last 2f. OR65+ and check if 70+ possible.

Abberley Dancer one of the cheapest at €2,200 but looking better than that in PRev. One of the biggest if looking a bit raw. Trainer Moore rabbits in this race usually finish well back. AD always racing out wide and getting a bump at one point. Still making ok progress for minor encouragement until the last 1f. Looks a possible for 70+ although trainer Moore can take time to get this sort to win but ok physical promise for an Auction filly.

So, the first 5 home all promising to some extent and Rial another in this interesting group to appear to have ok potential.

Always a worry in this sort of race when it seems ok to write positively about the first 7 home. Has the race misjudged and they looked ok here, relatively, but will look less solid when they run against other field. A not to see how the first subsequent runners from the race compete. Shine Likeadiamond another home bred from 'Pet Project' sires (now in Pakistan) for Channon and the type he has had way too many of recently. Cheaply retained although the dam does breed 2yo winners although mostly low level quality. But, SL a positive in her work videos where she looked mature and doing the work well. Hard to know what that amounted to in quality terms but a positive. Channon noted when interviewed before the race she was poorly drawn and who-knows FTO. Said the short SP nothing to do with him but said he 'liked' SL.

SLikeadiamond drawn widest but a good break and held back a bit early. Going well enough to pull herself forward in stages to end up Leading Line and too free overall. Faded a bit early but seemed to show the natural runner part of the work Videos. Looked fit for the day and a bit lean but should be later OR60s and see if she can be any better. Likely to be at her peak STO and in a target race. [NOTE : Kassia the filly shadowing SL in the work Videos. Kassia taken to NWBY for a post racing gallop with a Lead horse and another 2yo filly over the 5f course. Kassia ends the Gallop clear and going ok with the, limited, older lead horse unable to go with her.

Lone Angel seems to help tie the 'Story' of the race together. On debut she looked a thorough trier but a bit too small. Even given she had form the Market not that interested in her and in PRev a small one even this in a field designed for ready fillies. Ran too free but fading a lot and overpowered in this group. 50s.

Long Angel perhaps the marker line separating the usable and better fillies in 1st-7th and prospective Garbage behind. Fable Of Arachne short and small if well presented and soime build positive. But, seems low 50s and no interest. Frivolous Lady another smaller 50s type and not looking that willing here.

A bit more interest in the other 3 fillies in the Ruck. The Burnham Mare never going forward and some mix of too green and poor attitude. Worth checking on development because she has some bulk and not fit her. Usable 60s? Silver Springs at a shorter SP and another Evans 2yo on a late debut having been entered for the first races of the season. Strong build and neatly made and should be usable 60s. Slower start then hustled along to get involved. Ended up getting unbalanced and racing wide and an earlyish fade but ran better than the result reads and has more potential than the result says. A no-runner the day after, Follow STO.

Justice of some interest because of her connections and because she is strongly built and deep if on the small side. On Pedigree would need 7f. Ran a bit free from wide then got a bump and lost ground and too green to get going again. Another to check how she develops because 13th here reads much worse then her physical type. [A bit worrying because in a field of 13 only 3 dismissed entirely. Needs following carefully to see whether that was the wrong take to some extent]
