=== Post Race ===

Weak race with a small & wiry filly as the 3/10 favourite. Little Swift a trier but too small and vulnerable to anything with a bit more size. LS probably a 50s type in the full career view. Having her as short a favourite as she was only viable if the rest were mouse sized to her rabbit. WHich they weren't which was obvious looking at then in the stalls and more so in the last 1.5f. Full marks to LS for being a trier and fighting off Harryana's Secret but lacking the basic ability level to hold on after that.

LS's jk Murphy interviewed before the race and seems to be the sort of young, lifeless jk you get who presumably have all been through Media Training. Personable but no spark, no life and no personaility. No-one could listen to that dirge for another 30 uears. Amongst a variety of things that need to be done to improve the general interest of racing is to NOT remove any personality and interesting input from the participants. Murphy able to vouchsafe that "he was on the best horse in the race". Which was a guess and he presumably spends too much time listening to others. Look at your filly compared to the others in the field before you pipe up with unexamined cliches like that, Murphy.

Trainer Pears interviewed after the race and said he thought his filly looked the best in the Prelims. She was in good condition and a size bigger than LS. He said she had done a good piece of work since debut with Sensational Secret (2nd on Sat at BVLY in a smilarly weak Northern race). Pears aiming ANN at the sales race at NMKT off 8-2. Yawn.

[July 14th] Fast Cat a cheap buy and the dam has not produced a 2yo winner. Although a full sister ran placed to an ok level as a 2yo before wining at 3yo in the US. That one cot 70k. Picture on MaJo website showing her head down and a bit freelooking on the work gallops. Hard to judge size. On VRev here a smaller one and a bit narrow, But, the Froome style head down racing position remained visible. FCat always looking to race a bit enthusiastically and never balanced. Part of that being green and not seeming to handle the pace on the RIPN bumpy surface. Plus perhaps getting a bit mentally frazzled trying to take it all in and trying to race the others. Dropped out of the leading line twice and the 2nd time to 2f out looked like failing to handle the track. Size a niggle and is she even usable 60s on power? But, a real trier who should run better if she gets into a rhythm and runs professionally on a course she handles. Drops to 5f STO on a downhill track with undulations. Low draw at CATT STO so would expect to be allowed to roll forward and would run better if she got a good position near the rail. Still, looking at the lack of real 5f bulk here would expect 'something' to have too much power for her/
