SUMMARY
GF in early am as on Decs. 5mm of Watering Thur evening after racing. GStick = Stands Side 8.3, Centre 8.1, Far Side 8.2.

Stalls Stands Side (opposite side to Thur)

Medium to Stiff SSE Wind = 1/4+ Headwind (different from the Tailwind on Thur).

=== Pre Race ===

Breeze Video for Bazzat looking better than a barrel scraping 14k. Another example of a horse debuting at 7f who was being primed in early May to blast 2f as fast as he could. There's a mismatch there unless the bulk of the buyers at Breeze sales are not looking for ready 2yos (which the sales blurb and breeze timers will highlight). Bazzat probably only smaller medium and front heavy and head/neck a bit big. Less good and round behind on the back of some body length. Hustled into using his fastest cadence in the breeze and keeps it up for 1.5f. Travels straight until tiring last 0.5f and hangs right. Looking usable at some level.

=== Post Race ===

Stalls Stands Rail to Centre spread. House Of Commons leading and running freely moving across to Centre Track and field forming up behind him. Visual impression of a building Pace as the jk on HoC part losing the battle and perhaps part just letting the horse roll along by Halfway. Whatever the full reasons HoC a good 1.5L clear at Halfway and the field starting to stretch and more jks active. In earlier race some jks had been holding their mounts - especially visible with Von Blucher going too free. Overall pace clearly too strong given the Deep Closing that was possible.

Sectional Times for Leader through each 1f : -
1st 1f = 14.94s)
2nd 1f = 12.44s
3rd 1f = 11.64s
4th 1f = 11.70s
5th 1f = 11.67s
6th 1f = 11.41s
7th 1f = 12.59s

Sectionals suggest a slowish first 2f then a sustained pace through mid race with HoC hanging on into the lead until into the last 1f. The slow 12.59s for the last 1f effectively only 'saved' by the Deep Closing Manaafidh staying on strongly with HoC presumably running well over 13s. Would read the final result as the best 3 types of the first 6 through Halfway still in the first 6 at the finish. Those 3 joined by 2 Deep Closers who got different runs through. Manaafidh getting the clearest run through and able to turn his momentum built up in the 6th 1f into a clear run past stalling horses. Dal Harraild behind the winner at Halfway and a less clear run through. Switching left and then getting a bit blocked at times including by the winner. DH also a bit green and looking less than a big powerhouse. But, tall enough and showing a lot of range in his movement in the last 1f. Looking a rangy stayer with the movement lifting his expressed performance level. The 7th home in Al Khafji then a 'Pivot Point' in the shape of the final result. Ahead of him the best of the pacemakers plus the best of the Deep Closers. Behind him the lesser types relatively. Al Khafji able to just plug on without making ground nore places but pulling away from the lessers ones.

The previous paragraph purposely leaves out Muntazah and, along with Blue Bayou on the day, leaving one Paddock Reviewer at the course probably struggling to remain philosophical about how this is a 'Long Game' of working-your-edge against the Market. 2 x long priced winners foiled for the best types in PRev on-the-day. Remember your Kipling, and all that. Never breathe a word about the loss and build yourself back with your 'broken' tools.

Muntazah the stand out in the prelims. Strong, deep, balanced and relaxed. Looking High Class. Inspect the picture above of the finish with Muntazah to the right side and can you see the depth, strength, balanced & poise from a FTO 2yo? Muntazah able to cruise along in the ideal spot in midfield to the stiff pace and moving up to the lead around 1f out (having been a bit green initially when asked to progress) but HoC veered left at that point and trapped Muntazah between him and Von Blucher with Muntazah squeezed back and VB bumped off-his-feet to the left. VB had looked a 'monster' in VRev on debut but lighter here and Muntazah bigger and bulkier. Muntazah recovering quickly and going forward but HoC then trapped him against Folkswood (who had got tot he lead) amd Muntazah having to switch left again. Showing something Different (to add to his bulk, etc) to get to the lead again but mugged late on. Muntazah the best horse in the race and should be group quality.

Looked a solid edition of the race and the from 7 all 75+ and some better quality included. Manaafidh talked up as "Gorgeous" by Hannon in 215 and a "5 star" 2yo. Lesser type than Muntazah but standing up Hannon's view of hime being a good mover by the way he stretched and flowed in the last 1f.
