GFG in early am as on Decs. Rail out 3yds from inside line. === Pre Race === Went back to the Bell website but could find no mention of Big Sky's poor run STO. The blog writer normally covers most runs. There was a mention in July of Modest working with BSky in a way that would suggest Modest had a chance in her 3TO race (she was 5th/15 at NWBY on July 9th, 16/1 & achieving a poor rating). A look back at that Work video shows BS & Modest working as a pair and going along together. BS looking bulkier & better type. Latest Work Video from 8th July shows Big Sky working with Bocking End (8th/10 FTO on July 11th in a tough NMKJ 7f Maiden rating [19] at 50/1) & the unraced Forecaster. BSky working alongside BEnd to the finish and going as well with Forecaster dropped. === Post Race === Rail out and this race not suggesting the rail run a benefit. 1st 2 home in 2R off the rail and the 3rd - Prying Pandora coming from last running widest. PryingP looking a bit green and fat but a likeable size & type and better than her final position here. Trainer Morris interviewed after the race and clearly hugley relieved that he had got a win for a new partnership group. Morris has run 6 x 2yos for 'Rebel Racing' (run by Phil ??) and the six cost more than £200,000 to acquire before any other costs. Morris feeling the pressure of getting the best out of this group. Morris saying he though Rebel Surge was 'Listed Class' and surprised she was beaten at NOTT STO. Saying she is a 'hard ride' and 'too gassy' as he pulled a couple of cliches out of the Lucky Dip bag. Jk interviewed before the trainer and said she should be ok in nurseries as long as she didn't get too high a mark. Trainer still taking about 'Black Type' and not nurseries. Which may be reasonable if his job is to try to maximise resale value (via the bogus Black Type route). RSurge has beaten an OR70 filly here and looking a similar size and scope. Jk Harley probably with the more realistic view and he doesn't have a Partnership manager standing over him to whom it can, presumably, be hard to talk the plain truth. |
