SUMMARY
GFG by Race Time with 2mm of rainfall in the am.. GF in early am from GGF on Decs. 8mm of Watering "since Weds".

Stalls Centre.

Strong- Westerly Wind = Mostly a X-Wind, very slight Headwind from Left.

=== Pre Race ===

Dempsey Roll a leased horse and not purchased from an auction.

Breeze Video for Fine Example showing an unusual coloured one for a Showcasing. Darker bay with socks and a blaze. A bit more length than sire typical but a standard neatly made smaller medium one otherwise. Breeze below average and some disorganisation. Starts off by veering right then runs with his head to the right & offerring to hang left for 1f+. Average cadence at most and looking to green to show his full action. Doesn't move like a sprinter and fitting with the 7f start.

Breeze Video for Kentuckyconnection starts with the side-on angle and KC looks fine as a medium one with some length. Medium build and ok strong front. Moving like a galloper and using his range fine. First 1f of the breeze he tries to up the cadence and manages it for a period but never looking balanced and speed wobbles L/R. Looks better when drops back to slower cadence and using more range as he tires in the 2nd 1f.

Breeze Video for Ormskirk interesting and different from the endless set of neat/ready Showcasings, etc. Ormskikr by a sire who was a short, compact ready sprinter as a 2yo but looks nothing like him, other than being grey. A taller, lengthy, slight narrow & shallow one, Stronger front. Looking like a taller galloper and then moves like he looks. Uses his range, slower than average cadence and looking a galloper. Looks ok for 70+ and some scope to grow & strengthen. Also looking a straightforward character & attitude. Niggle on debut over a fast 7f on GF would be whether he might lack a bit of pace and look more like an 8f galloper against nipper types. If he gets away ok then his size should keep him involved for a long way and would be staying on as a Closer in a (too) Fast Pace race.

=== Post Race ===

Average Pace but enough sustained pace over the 7f to get rid of the lesser ones before 1f out including Barabau who tried to race prominently but creaking and driven along by inside the last 3f. As seem as possibility given his free running on debut just 6 days before My Two Scoops leading and racing too enthusiastically. Free and held for a lot of the race and running ok for 70+ given that. Either needs to settle or perhaps try 6f. Not looking too 'neat' (balanced build but a bit too size limited) in this group and MTS seems a solid type still for Northern maidens. Fine Example also running too freely in 2T behind MTS. Similar size and build to MTS but less clean mover. Hanging left as he started to tire early as he had in his breeze. Probably hasn't got the pace for 6f but another who needs to settle better, and in his case move better, to compete to win over 7f. But ok set-up for 70.

More interesting field in profile than a 7f maiden at the track would usually be. Post race left with the impression that the first 4 are fine as able to challenge to win Northern maidens and should rate 75+. Ormskirk a bit less bulk than general in the field as his Breeze Video might suggest. Raced very professionally, attending the leader and racing settled. Jk probably thought he was on the winner and still hadn't moved when into the penultimate 1f. At that point Kentuckyconnection came alongside having run green early and been 5-6L back before halfway. But his jk got him making his effort and moving forward earlier so he had joined Ormskirk for a 1.5f sprint to finish the race. Ormskirk beating those he raced with but KC to strong for him and pulling away at the finish. Kentuckyconnection looker the bigger of the pair and seems a prospect for 80+ and strong prospect if he goes to a nursery STO with OR70s. Might get tried at higher level STO. Ormskirk fine for 75 and ran close to his best here.

Broadway Melody back off a break and up in trip after finding little forward effort in a 2f sprint over 6f FTO. Ok size in the group and travelled ok. A niggle that she again found little forward kick in the last 2f but the race had part set up as a later race sprint again. That lack of a kick a difinite issue but seems fine for 70+ and see whether there seems more support for her STO.

Slower looking time which held the rating level down and the proximity of Saxon Gold also a niggle. SG staying on at the finish hanging onto the 3rd/4th. SG having run poorly twice before. On the plus side a solid size in this group and ok strong in front. Went back and looked at SG's first 2 runs to see if there was more promise than the final result suggested. FTO blew the start and ran green. Got back to the field and travelled ok through mid-race. Hanging left after halfway, part green, and not much forward effort. STO wide drawn in a big field at THSK so running against a big draw bias. A solid effort to break well and be in 2R near the rail after 1.5f when hampered and dropped to 3R on the rail. Ok pace to achieve that. Had to switch out left in the last 2f and not much forward effort and wandering around a bit. But on both runs looking at least a medium size with length. A bit leggy and gawky perhaps but moving ok until the later race issues. More professional here and accepted being dropped in and settled. A bit more forward kick here in the last 2f and only a hint of hanging left. Usable 60s and see what Nursery mark he gets. Might leak 70 if he could find some sort of kick off the way he travels.

Bradleysintown a standard issue Dods smaller to smaller/mdeium one in shape. IP body length, deep front and perhaps more a sprinter shape although the dam produces 7f+ ones. Ended up last but allowed to make progress before halfway. Middling effort last 2f before fading back in the last 0.5f+. Another Nursery type and perhaps usable lower 6s.
