Stiff - WSW Wind = Tailwind on the long Bend, 1/4+ Tailwind in the HS. === Post Race === Solid Pace set by Rasheeq and eventually headed late on by Binzart. Both STO having run in the same WTON race FTO where Rasheeq again ran prominently and Binzart not able to sustain his HS effort as he did here. Both similar, sub 75 types. Say around 70. Only Humphrey Bogart of the newcomers able to run a vaguely competent race but getting a bit too far back in the BS with the first pair home riding the tailwind and not stopping much. But, ok effort in the last 1.5f from HB and probably a few lbs better type in the full seasons. Two other horses with form running poorly which left the STO form from the WTON debuts as the best on the day. Secret Ambition running poorlyLTO and head up and thinking through most of the second half of that race. Never fulling fading and not going forward fully for some reason. SA looking the same here from early race and niggled along in the BS to ride closer to the pacemakers. Horse wouldn't (rather than couldn't) do it and the jk had resorted to full whip use before they reached the HS. SA again never really fading just going along at a speed he was happy with in the HS. Kadrizzi looking a bit smaller when clear with 3 others in a mixed pace race FTO. A niggle over his size there but (as with Candy Hill say) he seemed to try hard and would make the most of himself. No bigger than the first two home here and Kadrizzi getting over from wide draw to attend Raheeq's pace. Racing 1 wide around a long bend. But, the hard trying effort from KTON FTO missing here and Kadrizzi losing touch with the leader early in the HS and walking, looking unusually tired into the last 0.5f. But, another 65-69 type say and not taking much, in issue terms, to make him look moderate. See whether the jk makes an WTRB report. |
