GS by Race Time. GSG by 11:45am with GStick changed to 7.7 from 7.9. 4mm of rain in am and still raining. G in early am as on Decs. 2mm Rain on Sunday. Raining at the course in early am. Stiff- ENE Wind = just under 3/4 Tailwind. Stalls Stands Side. Rail Out by 4m. === Post Race === First race on Stands Side this year. Racecourse have been carrying out remedial work to try to reduce the advantage of racing on the Stands Rail strip. Although on the Stands Side the Rail was well out from the widest line and, presmably, wide of the strip where the remedial work has been done. But, this looked a horrible rail bias race whatever strip it was on. All the usual clues there. 1st 3 home the file of 3 who ran along the rail. Those racing off the rail fading early and beaten miles in a ribbon like echelon away from the rail. Rail Bias makes the result hard to judge except between 1st two home who had similar chances. Farkle Minkus needs a PRev because a bit bigger than take from VRev on debut but just a strong medium? Presume a solid 75+ despite the bias here. Main point to note is that the runs from those racing off the rail can mostly be ignored because they were probably racing in a relative swamp. |
