SUMMARY
Strong- SW Wind = Slight Headwind from Right in the BS, mostly unhelpful on the Bend, Slight Tailwind in the HS.

Slow Time and unhelpful wind seemed only part of that. Just an Average Pace and also a wide range of abilities on display. Despite the slower time and Pace the race seemed to separate the abilities out properly. Seems a relatively simple Shape to the result and an easy race for a Paddock Reviewer to find the winner. As a brief summary - Anwar a medium one and not looking a better Hannon type and a certain Open Maiden winner and OR70s but the 'Hannon' sticker getting her to an unrealistic SP FTO. Rah Rah plain bigger and stronger than Anwar and despite a wider draw and running Lane 1 overpowered her in the HS and presumably 80+. You wouldn't miss much if you assumed it was a 2 filly race and the Changeover Point (CP) is on Anwar. Lady Nayef up behind and a suspect wide mover in front in the HS but perhaps usable 60s. Given her pedigree and getting outpaced in the HS, but plugging on back to the fading Anwar, you would think a longer distance needed. Mostly little 'uns behind although a bit more to the Cleverconversation story then initially meets the eye. Some additional points follow.

Rah Rah the biggest and strongest in the field and a touch green but a solid win. A good, sustained effort in the HS but lacking the likeable zippiness of, say, Tiggy Wiggy in 2014 or event he same trainer's Baileys Jubilee in 2012. OR80+ amd Nov/Conds level type? Worth noting Rah Rah a first runner in Britain for Australian Sire Lohnro who was a superstar on the track in that country and been Champion sire as well. Stood in the US in 2012 for Darley and this his first season with Northern Hemisphere season bred 2yos.

Hannon family record in the 'early' Kempton maidens since 2002 summarised below. A mix of solid precocious winners and some Group level developers. Also a mix of FTO wins for the lower end through to Tiggy Wiggy and FTO defeats for some of the Group winning ones (a number of whom were really OR88-102 types and not Career 'Group level'). Anwar not looking anything better class and ran a bit free in the lead,. But, no obvious excuse for the defeat beyond lesser ability and, unlike the high class Hannon 2yos, not able to see out the final 0.5f. Seems to be a Maiden Winner type and the show here.

Lady Nayef below 75 level and perhaps usable 60s but hard to see that being over 5f (or perhaps even 6f) except in a weak race or testing conditions.

Lingfield Lass, What A Whopper & Ojai small or smaller and easily dusted off in the HS. Ojai narrow if perhaps a bit above the smallest and made a suicide effort wide on the bend. But of no real interest even given the benefit of some ground for that.

Fabulous Flyer very well turned out and more forward in condition that the Turner Brocklesby runner. But, small and given a moderate to poor ride by the apprentice including racing wide on the bend. Made the 3rd best effort in the HS but an early fade then eased when 4th still possible. Might be usable 50s early and the sort Turner will try to find a dreadful quality seller for. Note = That has become much harder recently and much to Turner's chagrin with his inferiority complex showing through. In 2014 there were 24 sellers & 15 Claimers in the 1,047 race season. Go back to 2003 the figures were 63 & 25 in a total of 996 races. Quite a change.

As the picture shows Cleverconversation another short one but with more bulk than the rabbits in the field. Might be usables lower 60s. Appeared to show a dreadful attitude in the race with a lot of tail flashing. Also spent a lot of the Back Straight (BS) seeming to buck and generally being unhelpful. Watch the video carefully and as Cleverconversation hops (bucks?) out of the stalls the Jk nearly falls off and lose his right stirrup iron (WTRB also). He had not got it back by the bend and stood up. Bucking because of attitude or because the Jk unbalanced and uncomfortable? Look at the picture and the Jk hasn't got on with the horse already out of the Parade Ring and she looks 'mean'. Not fit on the day. May well be nothing there but bad news but at least keep her out of the 'Garbage Can' for now.
