SUMMARY
GF in early am from GFG on Decs. 5mm of "selective" Watering on Friday, 5mm full Watering on Saturday.

CoC quote = "Inner of Straight has been dolled out 15yds at 6f and 6yds at the Winning Line".

=== Pre Race ===

In the spirit of 2005 and the BRD words use to avoid saying 'small' Hannon's 215 quote on Al Khateya a terrific example. Except for the fact he actually says 'small' as well. = "Beautiful, a bit small and neat, but she's very racy and has a nice pedigree. She ought to be an early sort". Add that to a Dettori hands-off debut and stall 16 and she cannot win FTO.

=== Post Race ===

Competitive race if lacking strength and depth. Relatively bunched finish behind the front 2 who makanged to pull 2L clear while hanging to the far rail (EL carrying the winner that way). Barely 70 form on the day although Stylistik wnning with some comfort in the end and can improve. Mixed bag in the ruck behind. What to make of Fabulous Darling being the only real Closer and getting to a clear 3rd?

Stylistik held down in Profile ratings by Trainer record and knowing little else about him. Intereviewed before and after race and came across as a more grounded and thoughtful guy than thought. Pre race said Stylistik had been away for 2 x racecourse gallops before her debut and he expected a good run. The 100/1 SP just 'Trainer Respect' pricing. Said she had grown since debut so had a break. Looking quite good in the finish of the race and uses here length, and her range well in front. Well on top of EL by the finish and pricking here ears and jk said she had been a bit intimidated by being carried across the track. Dace a touch more forthcoming after the race and said he had been careful what to say before because the last time he had bigged one up before a race it had been tailed off. Said Stylistik worked "all over" the OR80 mile handicappers he has at home and he will try Listed class with her. Inclined to think she is OR80s, which is enought to place in many Listed races and win some. Dace adding that he has struggled to get a better flat horse and has built his yard up slowly from startting with 60s types and now has some 80s ones. He felt Stylistik could be the horse to take him a level above that.

Aside from the Dace interview the others were more typical of the "everything is marvellous" British Racing style and devoid of numbers or anything else that might fix words such as 'nice', 'quality', etc on an Ability scale. Harry Herbert offerred a full toss about Al Khateya being "350k of fine Beast", or whatever, and said she was "beautiful", or it might have been gorgeous, and she was worth every penny. But, whatever, nothing that spoke to quantifying athletic ability. AK looking small as Hannon warned and not worth 350k and certainly poor value bought by the lbs weight. Dobbs rode instead of Dettori and an upgrade on a FTO 2yo. Dobbs getting AK out from the widest draw to sit 2R wide but AK unable to find much kick and finishing with some, err, lesser lights. Harry, in the spirit of shining light on Silent Evidence, can we have a talk about the raft of horses Mandore have bought over the years for huge amounts, which have evither never run or proved moderate athletes. Were they all worth the money? You have to avoid talking like a Syndicate Manager when answering.
