=== Post Race ===
Just Glamorous looking a bit bigger than previously and in good condition. But, hammering off in a clear lead going too fast. Good effort in that context to see of those who chased him and only beaten by Burningfivers who was outpaced early and staying on past tired horses later on (presumably, sectionals would add more detail).
Seemed another good ride by Dobbs, not in that he had to judge the pace but, typically, in not panicking and hassling the horse into trying to do something it couldn't when he was getting behind. Instead, quietly get everything balanced and going forward smoothly and see where that gets you. Focus on the Process before the Outcome. Dobbs seems to quietly communicate what is required to the horse rather than jumping around & scrubbing away. Ending up with Teamwork rather two individuals doing their own thing in a Fire Drill. Showed up even in the way Dobbs gave Burningfivers time to get sorted out and settled before kicking him off on the release. Next horse down launched by a running handler and allowed to career across the track before straightening out. As one clear comparison.
Stewards' Enquiry Text = "The Stewards held an enquiry to consider the apparent improvement in form of the winner, BURNINGFIVERS (IRE), ridden by Pat Dobbs, and trained by Richard Hannon, which had never previously been placed. They interviewed the trainer’s representative who stated that this race was a drop in class for the colt. Having heard his evidence they noted his explanation". |
