1st meeting of the year at the track and a later return than planned. Remedial work has been undertaken to level out the HS (at least) which had become very bumpy and many horses getting unbalanced. Interesting to know what work has been done. Has this been a complete relaying of the HS with sand added for drainage? Of the type that has made the straight courses at ASCT & HYDK liable to give peculiar results? Going changed to GS after race 2, this was Race 1. No Rain. GGS in early am from GSS on Decs. 2mm of Rain overnight. Fair Rail out from the intersection. Stalls Stands' Side. === Post Race === First race back and already a problem. This the Fastest Time for any 6f juvenile race at the course since the start of 2010, including high class 2yos (like Group 1 Belardo) running on GFF. This time by borderline 7f winning filly on official GGS. Have they put the furlong poles back in the right place after the work on the track? What have they done to the surface? |
