G in am as on Decs. Stalls Far Side. === Post Race === [May 29th] Stalls spread Far Rail to centre track. Average pace with field forming up in mid track. Pulling behind with Sir Roger Moore (Dettori) & Mr Potter (sweating, FFH & looking too fiery) both getting unbalanced fighting with the jks. Whole field within 5L of lead at Halfway. Overall take of a 2f 'sprint' race and first two home seem OR78-84 types. Sir Roger Moore the best forward move after too free and then some CZ progress. But SRM looking medium with length and using his range well rather than a bigger one. Another Touch (owned by YORK chairman?) a taller and more narrow one and looking fit for day. As often with the big field Maidens here not that strong a maiden (?). Note = Munira Eyes already beaten STO in a solid Open Maiden as an example of types behind. Blue Humor ridden by Atzeni as part of owner retainer so a more prominent position than FTO if Frank riding. Broke well then a small stumble but in the leading line. Raced a touch free and dropped back to 2R by Atzeni before Halfway. Disaapointing effort at 2f out even given a bit free earlier. Lower level plugging on and not showing any reach, determination, etc. Average level stall and fade off that. Steps up to a stiff 6f STO and will need to show much more and good devt to see that race out. BH seeming an example of how trainer's 2yos often having the physiques their trainer' MO dictates. A medium, above average build sprinter type looking like a 'Ryan' sprint 2yo. [July 5th] Ticking Away talked up by Brown in 215 saying he was 'big & strong' but also noting he hadn't "pushed on with him yet". A mix of green here and also running too free. Slow start but slower pace so running too free and a bit of FFH to Halfway. Minor puck-up at 2f out and jk had already gone quiet when TA stumbled early in the last 1f. Looking a prt of his greenness. Looking a solid medium one in this group rather than big/strong. See what the market does for his delayed STO going on towards 2 months after this. Injury niggle of left to develop further? On overall showing here could believe 72-74, say, but not a strong Open Maiden converter prospect. |
