SUMMARY
GS from GFG on decs.

=== Post Race ===

Another early 6f race used for various useful 2yos over the years. This detailed more in the write up of the 2014 edition (Race 88 in 2014) when the race produced two later Group winners in Aktabantay & Cotai Glory (FTO in 2014 for the same owner, sire & trainer combo as Shanghai Glory).

Jk Moore on Shanghai Glory getting to the lead on the stands' rail and not appearing to set a stiff pace and SG going comfortably in-hand to Halfway with Hyaline outside him. But, some mix of pace, going and unreadiness meaning the other 8 starting to stretch out behind by halfway with the 8 x jks all active already to various degrees.

Shanghai Glory able to maintain the pace well enought to stay clear as the 'ruck' stayed on tiogether. Hyaline probably a bit bulkier than SG and taking him on for the lead after halfway. Hyaline eventually broken by that effort and stalling back-1.5f but still clear 2nd-1f then walking in last 0.5f and finishing position hides the good promise.

Papa Luigi a big strong likeable lump but green here. Slowest start and last early. Then not responding before halfway and getting a bit unbalanced and losing ground as Hyaline engaging SG upped the pace after Halway. But, likeable extended effort to make his way through to 2nd before tiring. Looking a very staright mover although a mild niggle that the straightness perhaps a bit upright and 'fixed' in front and not fully stretching out. But looks a good one to follow from the race. Capital Gearing medium at most and a touch short with length. But, solid build and staying on widest for a Volunteer 3rd.

Roaring Forties a smaller one in the context of the field and not that neatly made. Slow start but then part a bit free and part making an effort into 4th by Halfway but driven along to make an effort by that point. Outpaced by leading pair but just heading City Of Stars for 3rd. But, a mix of that early effort plus offering to hang left with his head to the right overall meant an early fade. Looking a below average Open Maiden prospect for the connections.

[June 11th = Goodknight Percy not the typical medium and athletic type bythe sire. As his picture shows a bit bulkier than typical but also a bit awkwardly made. Lacking the usual athletic stance. Neck a bit long, body not well shaped etc. Looking raw. Similar in the race and some excuse with being green. But, looking to lack pace overall and unbalanced at times in a fast paced race. Some mild staying on in a rac ethat allowed it but nothing of particular note. Can tighten up his act in a number of ways but is his power linked to an awkward set-up which limits him? ]
