Slow Pace with the 8 fillies literally going 2x2 around the bend. A number held because of the slow pace and the pairs not that closely grouped together which should have assisted prominent racers. Some closing up in the CZ with Pink Angel almost in the lead by 2F out in centre track but then Head up and hang left when asked to make her effort and lost ground and taking most of the final 2f to get past the 2 x less tall fillies inside.
[June 26th] Moderate race on profile and a slow time meaning poor form level. Whole field looking sub 75, and perhaps sub 70, in the full term. Pink Angel a bit taller and very fit but on power ground perhaps around 70. Subsequent form of runners, including Rial & Herridge making the downside view of this field look corect.
In light of the overall poor/moderate quality on show and the low level performance what to make of the staying on of Hajeer? Filly given the usual Spenceresque debut ride by Hanagan for a Hamdan debut. Slow start and do nothing to encourage the horse until it is at the back. Hajeer making ground in the CZ lull to be perhaps 3L back at 2f out. Despite the visual effect of her 'staying on' much of that seems an illusion due to Herridge fading out of the front 3. Hajeer making little ground on the first 2 home and making a similar, or lesser effort to the limited Indigo Haejeer a small one with some build positive in PRev and perhaps 66. Seems like a 7f nursery project.
