SUMMARY
S in early am from GS on Decs. Rain through much of Saturday but no Details given.

Stalls Stands Side.

=== Pre Race ===

Dascombe on Twitter/FB in the am = "Reflextor [sic] poor draw on last run will be winning soon". Watch the VT of that WTON run and a slow break wide and made ground held in the BS to end up 2 wide around the bend. Even so = a tame effort in the HS which looked like non staying. Hard to see him needing a Heavy ground 6f to show his best on that LTO run.

=== Post Race ===

Times in line with Heavy going. Testing conditions on the day and most races featured a Clear Winner with the rest of the field Walking Home well spread out. Looking like a day for ground 'specialists' rather than any glaringly obvious Track Bias. Most races saw the runners grouping up in mid track. Some evidence that racing on the Stands' Rail might have been some advantage for the small number that raced there (for parts of the race).

Reflektor a typical get-on-with-it uncomplicated ride from jk Kingscote. Drawn next to the stands rail and got Reflektor out quickly and controlled the race by running the rail in the lead. Others racing off the rail other than Hillside Dream who was out the back but dropped to the rail for part of the race. HDream then having to pick a way through out wide to get to 2nd before fading last 0.5f (typical Spencer over complication hampering the horse's chances).

Possible that Reflektor got some advantage from running the rail but probably more important that he handled the going well. Reflektor closely related to several 5f 2yos and made a debut back in April. There has been some problem with the Dascombe yard this year with a big gap with no 2yo runners. Currently his returns for 2015 are competing to be his worst ever. Looking back at his career returns the move to Owen's yard in Cheshire seems to have limited his output in some way (possibly horse selecting & buying). He has not developed into the sort of trainer like Beckett or Haggas his early returns suggested he might become. Reflektor an example of 'Yearling Videos' in the early season article and some thought needed about how this win fits into the take there. He always should have been able to be an early 5f winner but the Dascombe stable issues held him back? Also need some more evidence from his next run in a Nursery to check what this form on Heavy going amounted to.
