- Scott Paul James Dixon. 24 years old in January of 2012 and the youngest licenced trainer at that date. Son of owner Paul Dixon who is prominent in the Racehorse Owners' Association and President of the organisation in late 2011. Mr. Dixon originally had horses with Alan Berry then developed his own training establishment at Haygarth House. This is a large base and Mr. Dixon has tried to get other trainers to use the facility as their base as well as having his own salaried trainer there for his own horses. He has employed a number of trainers as his salaried trainer including Mark Polglase, Alan McCabe & Jeremy Glover. When Mr. Glover retired for a second time in 2011 David Nicholls was nominally in charge of the horses at Haygarth House and using it as a 'satellite yard' although it is a good distance from Nicholls' North Yorkshire base.
- Scott Dixon had been working as an assistant to some of the previous trainers and in December 2011 was granted a licence to train in his own name. Former trainer Gary Moss stayed on as his assistant. He then became the latest salaried trainer for his father at Haygarth House with, officially, 51 boxes to start his career with of which 40 were filled. In interview on starting his career he made the point he was running a 'Public' stable and not just training for his family. Other owners were involved with the horses in the yard. No British raced 2yo prior to 2012 although he has been working as assistant to McCabe, Glover & finally Nicholls. Therefore, it is worth comparing his record to theirs in the periods when they worked for Paul Dixon.
