SUMMARY
First 2yo race on the new Tapeta surface, Straight Mile, track at Newcastle. Recently opened with the first meeting times showing up that a number of the race distances were well out, by >0.3f in the 7f case. How do you put in a straight 8f course and fail to put the starts at the right distances? They had a blank canvas to put them anywhere. You had ONE JOB!.

=== Post Race ===

Unexciting buinch in VRev pre-race. Similar bunch of smaller to medium ones and nothing showing up for size. Poet's Society the biggest but around medium. Seemed to show zip above his size in kicking off his pacemaking role to go 2L+ clear inside the last 2f and keeping going well despite wandering around.

Kodicat another of the endless production line of ready looking sprinters by Kodiac and which seem to sell so well at the Breeze Sales. Strongly built but size limited. Showing more pace than Tallinski as a clear 2nd until fading late on. Tallinski a ready sprinter in March debut and not grown and prob sub-70 in real terms. Kodicat a bit bigger and bulkier than Tallinski.

Hard to see what the £120k was for in Kodicat's Breeze. Visually nothing showing up to separate from the pile of Kodiacs at the Breezes. Worth noting that the going for the Breezes at Doncaster in April looked terible. Ground chopped up and loose on top and many Breezers slip around and unable to get into a rhythm. Kodicat a fast choppy action and not finding a rhythm and some wandering off a true line because of the going. Was she that fast a Breeze on the day? Given the state of the going how representative were the times? How did they compare to breeze times on better going?
