See the Paddock Review Rating Section on this website for reference. Unabated review Interesting race on proper soft ground in a slow time, 4 decent sized better ones and the best ride given by James Doyle. The lad leading him round said that Acclamations generally needed better ground and to make no mistake the favourite (Wahash) would win. A fine illustration of how in most cases believing ones own eyes and not listening to anyone else is the best policy. Unabated Well made, strong, low end of big, still looked a bit fat so should improve from here. Keen early but kept covered up and did not get involved in pace battle between Wahash and Glorious Rocket. 88 Wahash I had him as big on debut but here he was only 3rd biggest after the two Bated Breath colts. Looked fit enough today but not quite the quality of Unabated and Glorious Rocket. Good stride and should improve for better ground. 83 Mucho Applause Top end of medium, lighter build than the two Bated Bs. Fit as Baldings seem to be this season. Slowly away and green. 82 Glorious Rocket Proper big boy, strong throughout and handsome. Stood out to me, until in the parade ring he seemed to have a very inflexible rear stride. In the race this seemed to translate to a choppy action and this may be what limits him from being top class. Interesting to compare him on the race video with Wahash who seems to stretch out much better. Keen early and then got in an early race with Wahash, Kirby seemed to be under strict instructions from Cumani not to hit him and only showed him the whip in the final furlong. Not being pressed so hard he drifted back to be beaten about 2L by winner. Without the stride issue I would be thinking high 90s. With good or firmer ground will he be better or worse? 93 King Of Nepal Different type from the rest, bottom end of medium toward small chunky close couple ball of muscle sprinter. Plenty of condition and should improve a lot for the run and better ground. Had that slightly odd 3 separate parts build where the link to the main body at loin and shoulder looks a bit over emphasized, a bit Betty Boop. 75+ |
